I had horrible last days, because my wisdom tooth comes through (right bottom) and it is hardly a pleasurable experience. This is not particularly strong pain, rather hellishly irritating feeling, so analgesics dont help for it. Last four nights I spent mainly walking around the room in circles since even huge doses of Ibuprom didnt help, so they acted more like sleeping pill. First night I slept for about 3 hours, second one about 1 hour and next two around 3 hours. When I try to sleep in horizontal position the irritation strengthens, so I must stand up and walk. In work I look like zombie. Tuesday was a bit better, but it pains again today, albeit much lighter, hopefully it came through enough to not irritate gums so strong. I have a fixed date for removal (16th April), so it better be better quick, otherwise mix of analgesics and insomnia will kill me. :P

That's why Im not active recently, at evenings I hardly have desire for doing anything except random websurfing and thinking about another night. Sigh.

I know what you mean. Not so long ago i was in the exact same position. I was going to have a tooth removed, and up to that day, it hurt so badly at night that you can hardly get any sleep.

Ive been had. Last night was horrible, so it wasnt hard to make April Fool's joke on me.

Sorry guys for ruining your good mood with my wisdom tooth stories, but Im one big pain in recent days, like dying crucified Spartacus was in Howard Fast's novel. Today it pains a bit less, so Ive bought two beers and will try to anaesthetize myself with alcohol. Ill wake up in a middle of the night probably and fun will start once again, but who cares.

Anybody thought of making Easter games list on main page? The only one I remember atm is Easter Avenger (great game btw).

Edit: oh, and on the positive note, Ive been to Brendan Perry's concert yesterday. Not that it was great, cause I was a bit disappointed (it was really a solo gig, not much pieces from Dead Can Dance years), but it's always great to see somebody who youve listened to when youve been a teen and always dreamed to see.

I dont think we have any more Easter games... And besides I didn't think of it until you asked, so maybe it isn't that important. :)

Sorry to hear about your tooth. I know how you feel as well. Been there done that.

Did you actually fall for the World News I made? Or were you "had" elsewhere?

I read about the Polish presidents plane last night in the news right before I went to bed. Sad to hear of such a tragedy.
It seems a new election will be called for within 14 days and has to be held in less than 2 months. But as I understand it it was pretty important parts of the political cabinet that died alongside him.

It must be quite a blow for a country to loose big parts of the political world all in one blow. Did I understand it correctly that there is also a prime minister in Poland eMTe?

I think they have the same system as we have here in Germany. There's a president, who is the highest politician of the country, but don't have that much power (similar to kings and queens in countries like UK, Netherlands or Spain). And then there is a prime minister (or chancellor) who is head of the cabinet and has the real power.

Actually president has more power than in Germany as he can use his veto to block parliament's acts, he can appoint ambassadors and has a couple of more powers to help or hamper government's ventures. Polish constitution isnt ideal and there were several clashes between president and current government - Lech Kaczynski was criticized for frequently using these powers to oppose gov's ideas for no reasons - just to oppose them and to justify opposition Law and Justice party's criticism that ruling Civic Platform "does nothing". Significant fact is that Kaczynski wasnt invited to official Russian' Katyn massacre anniversary several days ago (prime minister Donald Tusk was) and was flying to another celebrations, organised by some Katyn memorial commitee, dont remember its full name. And it wasnt the first time when pm and president acted internationally as two separate powers, often creating confusion abroad. In Germany prime minister and government have full power and president has only representative and highly depoliticized functions, so there are no issues like that.

Now, according to constitution, head of parliament, Bronislaw Komorowski, became acting president of Poland and yes, new elections must be called within 14 days and elections must be held within 2 months. Ironic fact is that Komorowski is also ruling Civic Platform's candidate for elections and before Kaczynski's death he was the leader of polls with Kaczynski coming second. Now he'll probably win even easier and as he represents ruling party it is believed that arguments between government and president will come to an end.

People killed in the crash, except crew, military officers and few opposition politicians, were right-wing politicians - either from Law and Justice party or from president's cabinet and people believed to support Lech Kaczynski, like president of the National Bank of Poland, chief of Institute of National Remembrance or priests - so it is a blow rather for right wing of Polish political scene. Of course it is a tragedy, the greatest in recent Poland history, but on a personal note I can say that in modern liberal democracies such tragedies cant have an impact on the state - several dozens officials died, now they will be replaced with several dozens other officials.

It gives way for some new thinking very easily, but it also has the consequence of not having the former leader to ask for assistance. I learned now that there is actually laws against so many high-power people being on the same plane, but it seems the president might have pushed the pilots to ignoring this. I did think that it was weird that they were all on the same plane, since in Denmark the government and also the royal family are not allowed to be on the same plane all at once. Must be weird going on vacation and not being able to travel with your kids... But it also seems very clever - and now we see why.

Am I right in reading between the lines, that the president wasn't as good as most first assumed when choosing him (very nicely put)?

Well, president, prime minister and head of parliament cant travel together, but president with lower state and high military officials can.

As for president pushing pilot it is one of conspiracy theories, but currently sabotage of Russian secret service seems to be most popular on forums. ;) Seriously, there were rumors that in the past Kaczynski was pushing pilots to land in tough circumstances to avoid being late, but I believe we wont discover the truth in this matter now, so talking about it qualifies as telling stories imo.

President was good for some and bad for some. I am the latter one.

Had some goofy issues with login not working for me a while back, so I kind of abandoned this place for a while.

I am back now, and will be as long as login works again!

I have had a long day of unloading 20 computers, 20 monitors and associated keyboards and mice from a truck into my shop.

Very strong coffee please!
