Towerball

Post by Pater Alf »

A small game made LD12 48 hour game competition. It's your goal to reach the exit at the top of a tower. Each shoot you make will cost a certain amount of power (depending on how hard you shoot). Each wall you touch will give you some points and bring back a certain amount of power (at least in the first few levels). Using the right mouse key while the ball is flying will slow it down (which might be neccessary to prevent it from falling down from a platform).

There is also an editor (which is easy to use), so you can create your own towers without any problems.

An extremely challenging game, with some new ideas though, and that is what pulls this game up for me. A great way to build a puzzler but also make it something new and hard to master.

I like the concept and the physics of this game and would really like to give it a passing grade. But the game is not bugless. Sometimes your ball will roll through walls and you will be stuck or in a much worse situation than you're supposed to be.

I would say so. The game is fully playable, there are several levels, an editor and it doesn't seem like it's going to be developed any further.

I ask because I felt like playing alpha version of something really good, unfortunately spoiled by too high difficulty level, lack of polish and serious bugs. Pity that it isnt developed further.

Ok, minus "too high difficulty level", Ive discovered the dampening function.
