Windy, rainy and on snowy days - brownsnowed... Thats the classic Danish winter.
I miss those winters too, but I really get to live out my childhood again through Anna now. We are out on the snowy hills as often as possible. What is "køre på kælk" in English? Sledding???
Anna is getting quite pro doing snow angels. :) We even tried making a small snowman some weeks ago but the snow wouldn't really stick properly. Making snowmen always reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes snowmen.

As far as I understood things, the whole Northern Europe has some kind of a freak El Nino-type of weather/climate pattern.

And as luck would have it, I returned from my vacation (+30°C or so) back to Finland on the coldest day so far (-25°C or so). I wanted to go back.

Oh, it's extended FFreak's avatar. Chrolle's subconsciousness (?) revolves around fellow forum members this winter. Previously my avatar, now FFreak's. I wonder what does it mean? :D

Does this also mean that Chroelle might seek out antique trains for his kid? :-D

Seriously though, I just spent most of the day cleaning my apartment. My sister was over helping with that. Tons of computer screws and tiny objects in the carpet. Oh well, I am not short on computer screws. Vacuum cleaners help here.

Getting a cat tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

Looks like I dont have trouble with internet, but my Ethernet card is acting up. So you cant see me and I didnt even have time this week to buy new one. Monday should resolve the problem, if this is the problem. Sigh.

Now I get it. :) Ok.

Yesterday I got contacted by a customer regarding webdesign, so I will be a bit occupied with this the following days, though I will still look in.
Please be aware though that I have put off the last week of January for gaming - go read the world news to know why.

Hint: It's a holiday thats coming up!

Medic - Man down!!!

Looks good, but I promised myself after playing Evony, that I wouldn't get caught up again. :) I have far too little free time to play such things, which means that they tend to steal time away from other stuff - like my family. ;)

Ok, looks like my trouble are over. Looks like, because I'm not fully sure if Ethernet card was/is the problem. New one works ok, but old one also worked for shorter or longer amounts of time, so my mood is still far from enthusiastic hoorays. But I feel that probably everything's ok.

Lots of snow here, not very much frost, ugly and wet as always. I'm having deja vu every winter.

So how is the connectivity problem working, eMTe?

Yesterday was very hectic for me and later today I have someone stopping by to pick up two laptops he wants for his daughters.

For now I am listening to my 78 RPM records. got Artie Shaw's 'I can't get started with you' playing right now.

Ok with connectivity. Looks like old card caused interrupts.

Something is wrong: I have downloaded a few games from CWF. Pingus, SuperTux, and Skyroads Xmas Special. Pingus and Supertux both have EXEs in ZIP files, and both give errors when I try to open the ZIP file, about unexpected end of archive.

Skyroads worked just fine though, as it has the game files in the archive, rather than an installer EXE.

Strange...

Hm... Zyx?
I am running out of time available here at work, so I cant doublecheck, but Pingus didn't work for me either, so maybe there is an issue...

Hmm... I'll look into this. If you get it with FTP, there are no errors in the file, so there's probably a bug there somewhere in my code =(

Hmm... seems like that files are missing about 20kB of (binary) stuff if you download the file from CWF. Strange...

OK, I'm terribly sorry about this. I tested this out with very small files to check that the downloads work and it looks like this only affects bigger games.

I'm working to fix immediately.

This is really odd...

Buffy 6,7 megs - Missing 7655 bytes
SuperTux 7,5 megs - Missing 9225 bytes
SkyRoads 600k - 0 byte difference (works)
3D Bubble Bobble 2,8 megs - no difference
Barkley Shut Up and Jam 65 megs - 77079 bytes difference.

The only similarity so far is that the missing part is about 0,12% of the original file size.

Okay, fixed. Looks like the issue was with how PHP compresses output.

This was completely my mistake, because I did not test the change.

Please test out if the files work now. At least in my tests Barkley and Buffy downloaded without any problems now.

This really sucks.
