Webs of Destruction
Arcade Shooting
Windows, Intel Mac
Released November 29, 2008
Developed by: Gamma Prime Arcade RAD Team A
Created by Gamma Prime Games

Webs of Destruction is the reason Gamma Prime exists. The first game to be worked on, this arcade shooter was designed to be more like a game from the 16-bit era of gaming. We tried to retain the same true arcade feel, while adding the new whip element to power up as well. At nine tough levels, this game is a beast. It was very well received at ScrewAttack's Iron Man of Gaming 2008.

"I'm really proud of this game, and so should be everyone else that worked on this fairly ambitious arcade shooter. It grew from many different attempts, I finally settled on the C++/Allegro combination that I love to use. I asked [ScrewAttack's] Craig if he knew any artists. He introduced me to the Fizz. The rest is history." - Marc Marta

This was so fastpaced and difficult that I was sad to say I shut it down fast. The game had no appeal to me after trying it out for 5 tries and getting no further than level 1. I need more instant gratification than that! :)
Maybe an option to turn down the speed, or simply difficulty options, as I can imagine this having massappeal to hardcore gamers that want to go highscore competing. Sadly I am more casual than that.

I also think this game is a little too fast, i managed to get to the the boss in level 2 where i simply had no chance to avoid the shots.

It surely is fastpaced, but as in (nearly) every traditional shooter game, you can succeed quite quickly by learning the exact level design and the movement of your enemies. I got to the boss in level two after some tries that way.

I like the idea that you can catch opponents with your web and upgrade your weapon that way as well as the fact that the different levels have different perspective views and that you have the cahnce to play it with up to four people.

I would say that it is a pretty solid shooter game
