Cake Queen

Post by Pater Alf »

I played this game before, but back then it was called "Cake Shop" and it was a commercial game...

You take the role of a manager of a new opened cafe and have to serve all customers before the time runs out and they get angry. Besides you have to make the cake shop the number one in your town and build yourself a wonderful new home.

I'm still sure that I'm not the main target group when it comes to help Barbie to run a cafe and build her a dream house, but somehow this game is very addictive and the first time I played, I couldn't stop before I completed the gamehouse.

Good handling, nice graphics and a good soundtrack make this game enjoyable and worth a try.

Reminds me of Flo on the Go - or whatever the games with Flo and her kitchen is called. (I think they are shareware at the moment.
Also reminds me of these two gems from our own site:

Yes, it's similar to "Ore No Ryomi" but not as complex and not even half as fast-paced. It's quite easy to create the cakes and normally you should be able to have 100% of satisfied customers at the end of the day. In "Ore No Ryomi" this was nearly impossible.

But "Cake Queen" is a very nice game though and I had fun the first time I played it.

This is indeed a great, however somewhat girly, game. Good graphics, plays somewhat realistically, and has an appeal that you didn't think it had. Pace gets hectic later on in the game, and you find yourself addicted to finishing the game. I hit a splendid 43 days before completion (thats game days - not real time).
Gives you somewhat of a Barbie-feel, which will turn most 30 year old men away from this, but truth is that it actually plays somewhat fun, and will propably be played by lots of 30-year old mens daughters in the future. :)
