Goldrake Spacer

With nice graphics and not too suitable music. Ingame text is mostly in Italian, but who needs words in this type of games.

Developer: Anime Soft

You must be joking?!? Music is definitely one of the best parts of this game. It creates the atmosphere of a japanese sci-fi trash movie and when I look at the graphics that's exactly what the developer wanted.

Hmm, a hommage to japanese sci-fi trash with italien ingame text. That's a bit odd and I have no idea what the story is about, but in a strange way it's great fun to play...

I got to it!

I really hope they make a translation of this at some point. I loved so many aspects of this, that I got to the part where I wanted to ask a friend who speaks Italian to come help me with translating, but I am not sure I would like the story.
Whole concept plays beautifully and really gets you caught up in it. I just wish I knew who I was saving. :)

Simply put, I couldn't cope with the fact that your ship is so large. I did, however, enjoy the various power ups. The boss fights were so so, nothing groundbreaking. Sound was pretty annoying, actually more so the sound effects (especially the shouting when charging your weapon) than the music. Essentially, to me the game felt too cramped for a shooter.

Go play GS and check if it is "too cramped for a shooter" and is it true that "music is definitely one of the best parts of this game". In other words: go play it? :D

There are two news:

1. Crian Soft turned into Anime Soft and they have a new homepage:

http://www.animesoft.altervista.org/

2. There's a new version (v1.3.0) of "Goldrake Spacer". You can download it from our game info page:

http://www.curlysworldoffreeware.com/games/view/297

I can't tell you exactly what the new features are as the mail the developer wrote me was in Italian. But it seems it has to do something with the graphics and the DirectX support.
