I usually get sick when I swap bike for tram in autumn. One would think that you should catch cold when it's getting cold (or more precisely - when it's getting cold at evenings and it's still quite warm at days, so youre always dressed inappropriately), but it seems it doesnt work that way. I catch viruses because body isnt prepared for sudden change of healthy cool outdoor into warm indoor full of coughing people. It's matter of adjusting I believe, your body can adjust to practically any environment if you stay in it for longer time. I think everyone of us would catch something immediately if wed be left to live with Eskimos for example. Or in tropical rainforest. People living there for ages are simply accustomed their environment.

I used to get sick all the time when I was little. I don't think I ever celebrated a Christmas not sick, then I went away to university and the houses I lived in were disgusting and it built up my immune system, so since then I usually don't get sick...plus I usually eat a boat load of vitamin C around cold season.
This year was the first year I ever had the flu. It was pretty much out of my system in 3 days, but that first day was the freakin' worse. I felt like this:
and looked like this (minus the beer):

Some years ago i had lung-contamination or what it's called. They told me that if i had waited a few more days with getting to the hospital, i would have been dead. Maybe thats why i never get a flu anymore, because i've been deadsick by it once, and now im immune. I dont know of course, just speculations.

Pneumonia is what you are looking for I think.
Sound pretty serious.
My daughter gets them all the time, and she is connected to the hospitals childrens ward because of that, so she can just go there (with us of course) whenever she has something that goes on her lungs. Other kids have to go to their own doctor first - she doesn't.
Oh...I totally forgot to tell you guys the good news. You might remember some time ago that we went in to get her checked for Cystic Fibrosis...and the test wouldn't work...After 2 more visits and 2 more failed tests, they took a bloodtest on her, and we had to wait for a week, but got the answer last week. Anna does not have Cystic Fibrosis!
This means that they have now ruled out all the really bad diseases that it could be, and is now leaning on the fact that she has had some scartissue on her lunges after the first really bad case of pneumonia when she was little, which would make her lungs weak in places causing infections in her lungs and then in her ears.
So I am one happy camper right now!
Oh and I am feeling way better today.

Good to hear, Chroelle!!! Having ear infections and pneumonia quite often is bad enough for a little child, but it's appeasing to know that your daughter doesn't have something really bad. And most probably number of infections will go down when she gets older.
BTW: Am I wrong or isn't it impossible to get immune to the flu? As far as I know the virus randomly changes from year to year and so the best thing you can get is immunity for one flu season.

So how did everything turn out, C?
I'm 'here' but only been popping in to see the latest posts- getting the shop going has taken longer than expected, but only because I am trying to do it without a startup loan. Very rarely can a store get going by just sales alone, but I am doing it!
Anyway, I might look around for some games to play on my laptop when I am on trains and buses.

Old trains never die. They just sit in ruin and wait until the day they are taken in by a skilled craftsman and rebuilt to their former glory.

I just wrote a message about a foot long and then it decides to log me out. So here is a resume:
Glad to hear your store is up and running RyM. How big is it? Its good work you are doing!
Anna was sick for some days and the chickenpox annoyed here. Alot of sleepless nights, crying and moaning, but enough about me - she had it bad too.
After the first couple of days where she didn't move more than 3 feet from me, and never for more than a couple of seconds she started to get better, but it was a long time to go without having any playmates other than your dad...
We watched alot of childrens tv, which luckily is rathr good in Denmark, as it keeps winning awards, so Anna was occupied and I could live with sitting there. However we also saw some non-danish shows and they got me a bit more annoyed... Teletubbies, and Bob the builder is perfetc examples of why some people deserve to be shot! And in public too - so others wont think of continuing their work...!!!
We watched some Danish shows:
For example
"Anders, Stine and Jeanette"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Erlz-S9hao8
Sørøver Sally:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wrGLdld ... re=related
Couldn't find any videos on any of the others. But this kind of childrens TV, was very big in Denmark in the last 30-40 years. Its all about the puppets.

I think you are right about the Teletubbies. Even if I understand why they created it the way it is and why little children like it, I can't watch it for more than 10 seconds before I feel the urge to hit something or someone.
But I have to say that I like Bob the Builder. In my eyes it's a good show for children, it has nice and funny characters and they even cared to make it in a good visual style (I'm not sure, but I think they really did it in stop motion).
BTW: Did you recognize that B. Obama took a slogan from Bob the Builder for his winning campaign ("Yes we can!"). I still think that's funny...

Well there are lots of good stop-motion childrens shows out there. Postman Pat is one of the better I think, but Bob the Builder just annoys me. A bit like the Teletubbies. I understand why they made it and so on, but the whole "Yes - he can" thing just gets on my nerves.

@Chroelle (And anyone lese interested):
I was originally to get a corner store location on the North end of Waukegan, at $400 a month, which is extremely cheap. However, it was on the same property as the Democrat Party office, and I guess for whatever, they were, and still are, very slow to get the empty store up to building code standards. So much as it would have been nice, I didn't get that location.
Now, I have gotten about 80% of my computer inventory moved into an office suite in downtown Waukegan, on a very heavily trafficked street. I feel this is better anyway, and I was able to get this for $300 a month, and they're giving me a few months to 'ramp up' sales there before they charge me rent. Knowing some of the big politicians in Waukegan certainly helps!
As far as the size of the place, it is about 30 feet wide, and 60 feet long. I am needing a lot of shelving put up, and a nonprofit organization I do the tech support for, the Youth Conservation Corps, has offered to send their crews out to build what needs to be built, if I can supply materials.
So basically this is where I got to really, really screw up to fail at this point.

Amazing. I am really happy for you. Is the store called Computersystemrebuild?
A little on my weekend - suddenly sounds casual - its not.
Yesteday I was at a meeting at my workplace, and my phone rang. It was my dad who told me that my mother had fallen, and my stepdad had been forced to mouth to mouth to get her to breathe again.
Long story short - she feel, hit her head, got a concusion and lost her breathing. I rushed out there to find that she was alright now, but her hand was broken...

Yes, Chroelle, the name of the business is Computer System Rebuild.
Straight to the point, and tells what I do. Besides, it was the best I could come up with at the time.
Now, off to my dad's house. We're having a steak dinner and going to work with our old O Scale (1:48) Lionel railroad afterwards.
