Atomik

Post by eMTe »

Blast your opponents off the board in this strategy game for up to 4 players.

Take turns to place coloured atoms in to the grid. Each grid square can safely hold 3 atoms, place a 4th and it will cause an explosion sending each atom into one of the surrounding squares, giving you control of those squares.

Massive chain reactions can occur, when there are many full squares connected to each other. The game ends when only one player remains.

Play against computer is also available, but multiplayer is where this game really shines. Looks like it could have been better though.

Warning: game hangs for me when I try to change player's name.

Game is a bit easy when you play against the computer opponents. If you don't make massive mistakes, you will win every time. But it's some fun if you play against friends.

And there is really aproblem with changing the player's names. Game will crash after you entered the first letter...

I remember a Macintosh shareware title that was just like this, but that game was from the early 1990s, and doesn't seem to work under anything much above System 7.1 (At least not on OS9.)

I have it on floppy disk, but I will try this updates PC version!

Oh, thanks for the name warning!
