It's part of a series (four movies so far and a fifth one is in production). The first movie (from which the photo was taken) was made in 1979. And it's not a Hammer production...

"Phantasm" is right of course. And don't miss 2009 when "Phantasm V" hits the cinemas (at least I hope so)...

Shogun Assassin?

"Your technique is magnificent, when cut across the neck a sound like wailing winter winds is heard they say, I'd always hoped to cut someone like that some day, to hear that sound, but to have it happen to my own neck, is ridiculous"

No. It's from a series of movies which was made during the 70s. I'm content if you just give me the name of the series. In fact I'm not really sure myself from which of the movies exactly the screenshot was taken...

Lone Wolf and Cub aka Baby Cart aka Shogun Assassin.

Or Kozure Ōkami 子連れ狼 if you want to get technical. :)

I must say that my jaw dropped when Scythe answered the title of a japaneese movie and you said he was wrong... I looked around for freak space-time continuums showing up near me, and worlds collapsing close by. But my faith in real life was properly restored when I found that it was not Scythe who answered wrong. :)

Shogun Assassin is the title given to the English dubbed mishmash of the first two Lone Wolf/Cub movies cut together. It's the one most westerners has been subjected to. :)

Sorry for shitty pic.
