This is a weird situation. I found some bugs in the game, which I think might be my own doing. I also missed some things in the game, which might have weighed me down, but still.... This gets a topgrade. I love this game. I the scenery, I love the gameplay, I love the features it presents, I love the length of the game, and I just want to play more of it (and I will).
I did meet these issues:
- When having found some things for the person in the end of island 1, I saved and went to dinner, upon entering the game again the things I found for him had disappeared. I went and found them again only to find them lost again after some waiting once more. Are there a timelimit on them? Is this on purpose...?
- I really missed a list of items and what you can do with them, as I run around with lots of claws, teeth, bones, and slime etc. and dont know if I can use it for anything.
- I did however love the fact that there is an editor for making your own islands. I am so going to make myself and islandparadise one of these days.

How to remove item from hand without discarding it from inventory?
Possible bug ---> Ive found a whip. I was using it for some time and then tried to remove it (see above). I couldnt find any option for it, so, since Im still learning to play and have fun doing weird things, I discarded them. After this I wasnt able to use my bare fists to kill animals! Leftmouse ceased to respond.
Fantastic atmosphere in this game. Love rpg/adventure elements. Hate killing all these cute animals, it's disgusting!!

I actually got that feeling of sense to killing the cute animals. For once there was a game that didn't just made you kill because killing is entertainment but it actually makes you kill out of need. I really truelly deeply love this game.
I didn't run into the issue of discarding items like you did so I dont really know what the issue is. Are your hands empty? And why would you want to attack animals with your hands when you can create weapons so easily?
Best part of this game opens up when you are good enough to plant trees and bushes and so on, so you can really make a nice campsite for yourself. Though I never really got the hang of the whole herbal mix concept. I only used it once when I got stung by a scorpion.

I would want to attack them with hands, because this is how I start the game - with bare hands iirc. Will investigate it.
There's no manual anywhere, this is the main problem. Getting into above-average complex game without one is always tiresome.

I found some guides somewhere but I m considering making my own for this site after seeing that more people are having issues with the game. I will add tht in the bugtracker as one of my things to do.
So what I am understanding is that you cant even start a new game and attack with your bare hands anymore after letting the whip go? The easy solution is to hurry up and make an axe or a hammer and attack them with that, but that doesn't really solve the problem, just works around it. But then again if you cant attack things, then it might not be as easy to get branches and stones???
Hm... this one is a puzzler.

I took some wool from sheep. I made a cord from it. I put it into hand with hand-icon. So I had cord in my hand and each time I was pressing 'use' button (standing in front of palm etc.) I was receiving "i cannot use it" reply. Ive found branch. Without doing anything with cord I put branch into hand. Now I cant use branch on anything (there's no 'i cannot use' response when try to use it). Do I have branch in my hand or not?
Really, if a no-gamer would read my above words he would think he just met a madman.

It seems you haven't. And you cant use it on anything really until you reach a rather high level of planting-skill.
Can you try putting it in your hand again? Tell me what happens when you do that. Then I can try it out and see if I have the same issue. What island are you on?

I think the sloution for eMTe's problem is quite easy. There's a key which you can use to skip to the next weapon (I'm not sure which one it is, but you can find it in the options menu). You can use it to skip all weapons and return to bare hands. Items you had in your hands before doing so will return to the backpack.

Well I simply use the mouse wheel to skip between things I assigned keys to. I think maybe the branch can be used for hitting things...And that could be a reason that you do not get the "can not use" message. You can check it by trying to use it on the ground. Either you are skilled enough to plant trees and then a "planting tree"-meter will appear, otherwise you cannot yet, and then it will say that "you are not skilled enough yet".
Otherwise you can always check the lower right part of the screen to see wether you are holding something in your hand or not. There should be an icon telling you wether you have something or not.

"Stranded 2" is much more complex than the original "Stranded". I really like the fact that there are so many items to find and to create and that it's up to you to find out what you can do with them. I also like the fact that there is an adventure mode with four different islands as well as single islands you can choose from and an editor.
The one think I dislike is that the game can get a bit repetitive if you try to build a nice camp site. I'm pretty sure it's on purpose, because on a real lonely island the daily work would be repetitive as well (hunting, searching for ressources, plantig fruitts etc.). But at a certain point I was a bit bored of cutting down trees and smashing stones and carrying them to my camp.
Graphics and sounds are fine, but controlling wasn't always logic. Why do you have to take corn in your hand and press E when you want to plant grain, instead of just pressing the left mouse button (which is an action key as well). That was confusing sometimes.
But after all "Stranded 2" is a great survival game and I can recommend it to everyone who likes "Robinson Crusoe" and similar scenarios.

Well if you like "Lost" and "Castaway" you would love this too. If you lack company you can always look for Wilson.
I almost finished my game guide on this so look out for this game on our main page.

Then wait until you get to the 4th island and you meet the old man...That will blow your mind - literally.

Skipping tools and assigning hotkeys was the problem. Resolved long ago.
Need a tip which I havent found in manual. Difficulty: hard. I start in water with no weapons and little goods. There are sharks around me and lion on the beach. What am I supposed to do? Do dangerous animals have their own range within which they walk around if not disturbed or can they walk around whole island like kiwis?

Sharks are more mobiel as far as I have seen, but still they hang around a certain spawn-area.
Lions are tied to their "lion-stone".
Now I cant wait to get this added to the database so I can finish my guide and get it up there.
