I was just thinking about you Scythe, since I am cooking in my own grease in the apartement, and I had that thought I always have when that happens. "At least I am not Scythe"...

And I can ban the ad if we want to yes, but do we want to..? Ok, ok...I'll remove it.... As soon as I can get myself to do it...
I will have to make a new protected adbox, so it might take some time...
Seriously...I am not just trying to keep the pretty girl here as long as possible...

no no I mean it.

I do....

Dont you trust me...

come on....

ok, i'll see what I can do....

what?

Does the site at least make money the more it is clicked on??
If so, I'm glad I could have raised that $5 for the site

sorry to hear that you are dead, Scythe.

It has rained horribly here almost every day for the past 2 weeks. I'm starting to think I should have taken a week off at beginning of July to build an Ark.

Well they might be more likely to highten their bid on how much they are willing to pay for being shown on CWF if you click them, but that is all. That is why Project Wonderful ads are so great. No clickfraud per se.
But they have been stuck on our ads for some time so I think they are paying a decent penny for advertising here. And that is cool.

On another note. We was attending Tanjas mothers funeral yesterday, and even though the occasion is somewhat sad, the whole day was great. The priest did perfect, and teh whole ceremony was more that one could ahve hoped for. Close to 100 people came to say goodbye to Kari and after that most of them came home to Tanjas fathers house to have a wake, and it was just perfect. People had fun and talked about Kari, and how they got to know her and shared memories, and stayed until late.
Tanjas father was really pleased and had a good day.
When I go - this is how it should be for me too!

We have Tanjas grandaunt living with us - they are the ones we lived with when we were in the States some time ago (9 months plus 16 months), and came home pregnant - well at least Tanja did - i was just a little bloted. She is such a nice lady, and Anna loves her already, but she and Tanja just went to Copenhagen to do some shopping and I must admit I am glad to have the place to myself until Anna wakes up.

I also started running today but I will write about that elsewhere.

Honestly, I wouldn't try to get rid off that particular ad. Why? Well, there's a saying, saying "Sex sells".
This might have more clicks than others (maybe Chroelle can tell us more).

Well I haven't seen it in a while so I think they might have ended their bids on the adbox.
Which ads are displayed and how much we earn on them is calculated like this:
Any given advertiser can put a bid on our ad-boxes for an amount of money they would like to pay for advertising here. If others are willing to pay more then they will not be shown, but if the high bidder at some point ends his bid or lowers it, then the first bidders ads are shown. It is all an eternity auction as PW puts it themselves.
Advertisers can make campaigns where they target specific ad-box details, or site details. They can for example target the number of views an adbox gets, but not how many clicks it gets. The prize is therefor much more often based on how visited a site is, or how often its pages are viewed than it is based on how many clicks the ads get. This reduces clickfraud, but of course a developer would like to get more clicks, so this is viewable to advertisers, and only them. So clicking the ad wont help to highten the prize but might help to keep current bidders bidding - which in turn might highten the prize, but not as effectively as getting more people by the site, or viewing lots of pages.
Sometimes we get enourmous amounts of views a day, but with few visitors. Schhhh....This is because sometimes we hang around the forum and wait for eachother to post or something, and some use the LURK function which refreshes every few seconds or so - thus getting the amount of views up. As you can see in the PW-ads statistics people from Denmark and Finland lurk alot...:D

Ok, I missed 100 posts or something, but now the temp is down to where I can breathe again. Which doesn't mean I'm going to be useful, of course. I'm just here for the popcorn.

No usefulness, no popcorn. :ninja:

Let's see if this works.

During last weekend I got fattier, suntanned, lazier and also became wannabe master of driving the leaking, sinking, underinflated, oversteered dinghy. In short, we have African weather here. :D

And I got another, highly deserved, raise. But who cares when youre being boiled alive.

Well the good weather stopped here yesterday, and today I had to postpone running after being ready to go out the door, knowing I would run in a slight drizzle. But when I opened the door the sky suddenly opened up and rain fell like hammers, so it was a good thing I got delayed for 10 minutes going out the door. Otherwise I would have been so far out on the route that I would have been drenched even before being halfway back home even if I turned around.
But I am hoping that the weather tonight will change and that way make me able to run anyway.

Oh, and my headphones went dead, after turning a chairwheel on the cord, so I cant judge sound or anything currently. So life is very silent at the moment... Well at least when Anna sleeps.
She started saying so many words, that we cant quite follow. She really had a growthspurt these last days.

Do you have strange weather during summers in Denmark recently? What weather did you have when you were young? Here, in 80ies, summers were usually extremely hot (extremely for this latitude). Nowadays (for a couple of years) we experience weird mixture of near-tropical heats, heavy rainfalls and strong winds. I guess climate is really changing. :(

Not that I dont like a little bit of rain, but it's become really hard to plan your freetime. :/

I think winters have been stranger than summers lately.

The winter sucked, and the old folks' saying goes that after a bad winter, there's a bad summer. So, I guess it's more seasonal patterns and chance than global warming.

But it's quite sad that the only heat wave I felt was at Dallas-Fort Worth airport. And I was just transfering...

Winters are also strange, with about only 2 weeks of really strong frost and snowfalls. 20 years ago frosts could last for several weeks and we usually had over 1 meter of snow. For weeks. Now winters look more like very cold autumns with almost no snow, instead there's lot of frozen mud everywhere. Theyre dark-grey and ugly. :|

I didnt mean global warming when I said climate is changing. I mean it is changing for some time. Seasonal pattern is more likely than any drastic change, but what makes me said this pattern can last for decades or centuries. Or even longer what is still very short in comparison with Earth's existence.
