Tool: RPG Maker XP

Post by Chroelle »

I might go back and do an introduction regarding this game when I get to a place of mind where I know what to write, but so far I am having some issues with it. I found it here http://tkool.jp/products/rpgxp/eng/ and tried installing it, but after finishing the download it simply denied me to run any of the applications that was in the package. I cant run any of the setup files or anything? Is there something I am missing? Should it be in a specific path or something...

Well, I have a working copy, but I haven't looked much at it yet...

But then I haven't looked much at RPGMaker VX yet either, and that's more exciting (since it's new).

Hold up a second - has this been released as freeware? Not to my knowledge. You need to buy a license for it to get any functionality, unless things have changed. You can download the RTP freely, I think, and there is a samplegame, but that's it.

Is there something here that I have completely misunderstood?

You might be right. I will investigate this. Thanks for the heads up.

EDIT: Found out that you need a license. Closing topic. Will go look for other FREEWARE game creation tools.
