Hairy Harry

Post by Chroelle »

We do need a few of those sporty-ish games, and here is another one of those volleyball-simulations with cartoonish characters. This one stands out though, according to different sources, this game has another dimension. Well the customisation of the game is an awesome thing I can tell just by watching the screenies. I know I got at least one members attention with this.
Info coming later on.

Here is developers description of this version:
Simple and fun gameplay
Editable characters with many different hairstyles
Very funny-looking dynamically moving hair
Three different singleplayer modes
Multiplayer via tcp/ip network
Realistic ball physics
Game statistics
Minimal hardware requirements:
Pentium II 450 MHz, Riva TNT2 32MB
4 player mode ( 2 human vs. 2 human via network )
Optional adaptive speed ( game gets faster during one rally )
User definable themes: define new graphics, hairstyles, sounds, and colors
New themes can be selected/downloaded directly in the game
Game update ( reminds you of new versions of the game )
Mulit-language support

This game has so much versatility because of the themes you can download. The gameplay changes with some themes, and all in all you just can pass this up. An AMAZING coffeebreak game, with so much replayability with the many themes that you wont put it down soon. Have fun.

What I like most is that different themes have different ball physics. If all will be done as professionally as IK one this game has bright future.

A very good arcade volleyball game which is great fun to play. There are many different themes (and in some even the ball physics change) and three difficulty modes that are really playable (none of them is too easy or too hard).

There is One-Player and Two-Player mode and the only thing I whished for is a tournament mode. After a while it gets a bit boring to play a single match over and over again

Unfortunately, game is buggy. It slows down or speeds up, depending on I dont know what. It once slowed down so much that I was able to beat comp on hairy level. Another time, it became so furious that I could barely touch the ball on medium level. It also crashed one or two times.

Was that in a special theme or the classic?

Things are complicated.

I usually play only two themes which I like most - default and ik+. Ik+ seems to be most buggy. In both themes game speeds up when ball is longer in air. After 20 or so touches it becomes almost impossible to win. Dont know if it is made on purpose or it is a bug. Looks like bug.

One more thing. Happened twice, couldnt reproduce it later. Dont remember theme. Players from both sides were suddenly hanged above the ground on some invisible hook and I wasnt able to touch the ball. Comp player either. We were both able to jump, but the ball was almost impossible to touch. It looked like players were moved to different screen "dimension". HORRIBLE BUG.

Hate to write all this in here, but it's true...

You know that there are two options called "Adaptive speed" and "Turbo"? I think you should disable them both...

Ok, Ive found adaptive and turbo options, but game still speeds up and slows down for unknown reasons. :)

After disabling adaptive I was finally able to beat Hairy and, what I loved most, to beat most touches and run records. Dont remember exactly, but it is now somewhere around 80 touches from both sides and over one minute of groundtouchless play... :D

I bow myself in shame when I look at your score (as I wasn't even able to beat the hairy mode) and declare yourself master of Hairy Harry!!! :notworthy:
