Ore No Ryomi 2

Post by Pater Alf »

Strange name for a game, but who cares (think it was a japanese original)...

In this game you have to run your own restaurant. You start with a small amount of money and nothing on your card at all (the first one you should add is beer) and have to make it to a well known restaurant with contend customers.

Cook meals, serve drinks, wash the dishes, extinguish fires, catch robbers and always be sure that the next rush hour is just some moments away. It would be hard enough to do this things in a row, but unfortunately you have to do them at the same time and you will sure wish for some extra hands when this happens...

This game is so crazy, but also strangely cute and highly addictive. Only in Japan could something like this originate. My only real gripe was with the messed up diffculty ratings for different food items. Sodas are not easy to make! They're among the most difficult and time consuming in the game! A lot of extras make this game one to recommend for arcade fans (not business sim fans, because this is more of a "Tapper" game than a "Tycoon" one).

I remember playing a game of the same type - think it was called Flows diner or something. It had more features and was way better graphically, but it had exacly the same effect on me. I just have to play for 5 minutes, and I end up playing for an hour.
This game is great, even though I think there could have been let out some things, like the burglars. They often just locked up my orders, and had me running for them, and I somehow good bad publicity because I missed an order while trying to catch a thief...

I would also have loved if the garbage and dishes were placed so they were selectable, so you could do them when you wanted, instead of them always having to be done in the rush hour. Honestly, that killed some of it off for me.
The music is taken from The Sims 1.
