VlakoSim

Post by Railwaymodeler »

I found this yesterday evening, and have been playing with it a little bit.

http://www.vlakosim.com/index_en.html

According to the site, it is freeware, and wanted to share. I'm more used to the controls of Trainz, so this is a little different for me. Pretty nice though. :)

If I have more free time today, I'll maybe post some piccies of my railroad I'm working on. Maybe. :D

Old trains never die. They just sit in ruin and wait until the day they are taken in by a skilled craftsman and rebuilt to their former glory.

Just found this out- the game is similar to the shareware Rule The Rail- you get a program with a basic package, but unlike Rule The Rail, the add-ons are free on the site too. I just tried to add a train, using objects that apparently do not exist yet on my installed program, and the program crashed. Am downloading objects to fix this right now!

Sorry to say that this seemed unfinished to me. It had very little appeal, and I usually like tranport sims. The idea looks good, but everything is so badly described that you feel you are given a childrens drawing and is expected to build a nuclear plant from it...
