Bernard and Hank

Post by eMTe »

Bernard & Hank is about the farmer Bernard Buffalo and his retired friend Hank Hoedown. The evil businessman NationalLiberal wants his farmland, to build a factory farm on it. He sends out his minions to steal the deeds to the farm. Bernard and Hank will have to get this back, and they have to get rid of all the liberalminions. They will have to go through 40 normal platform levels, 3 driving levels and meet 15 different enemies to do so. The game is a bone-headed platformer with moving platforms, collecting coins, jumping on fat people and getting shot by cowliberals. The game also contains some minigames, to be unlocked by finishing levels.

Well lets look at this if game is accepted...
I have spoken of somewhere, that the idea of Premium Members might be cancelled, if the money made from ads is enough to cover expenses...
This is not fully agreed yet...

Since the game has been accepted, I write this:

Premium membership will, if implemented, not be regarding games, but regarding forum-features, and it will not allow you access to games non-premiums can not access.

I had an idea that members could order a dvd with all games on sent to them via regular mail, but if this will be done, then Bernard and Hank will not be on that disc. I am not doing that for free. :D
I will however not promise that this will be a possibility in the future.

I see no other problems with adding Bernard and Hank to the site, and having premiums... The only problem in this case is the same old...
What should we offer Premium members?

Great graphics (and not simple at all, it is drawn that way on purpose, I can bet), music too, gameplay too. And charming 8bit atmosphere. Totally addictive game, once you start play you just cant stop. Some minor flaws (your character gets stuck from time to time inside the wall, but you can get out of this "trap" by jumping) cant overshadow overall quality.

This is the best mario clone Ive ever played, even better than Mario Forever. Thumbs up!

I liked the plot, but I do feel that the game gets a little repetitive... I think there are more exciting platformers out there. Liked the whole red-neck theme, but I feel more could have been done to underline it.
After finishing this you can always dig into the sequel:

I've been playing this game quite a bit lately. Indeed, it is addictive, and I may write a review for it soon.

Question though, eMTe (or anyone else who can answer): I found those traps, and they seem to happen when you walk slowly over the edge of a small cliff (Stepped land is common), and land just in a certain spot. I can't even get out of these traps by jumping! Anything else work?

The workaround is to not drop directly down over the cliffs, but maybe jump a few pixels or so away from the cliffs.

I don't remember a single thing about the game except that it is platformer and it is fairly easy.

But if you like Bernard and Hank you should also try Poacher - less forgiving game, but also featuring amiable redneck.
