That has to be an early Usagi Yojimbo.
I never really read them but I know them. They dont fit my comic style - as you might have noticed.

It is "Usagi Yojimbo" in fact...

...and you really should give it a try. These comics are much more serious than you might imagine when you think of animals as ninjas and samurais. And Stan Sakai really did his homework regarding the ancient Japan.

It's called Yakari where I come from and I think that one was called White Buffalo.

t know they had cartoons in atlantis...They must be in a sort of protective cover not to get all soggy...

This elephant is the star of one of the most popular radio play series for children in Germany (got his own TV series and even a musical after that). So here every child knows him. But it seems he isn't that popular in the rest of Europe.

I think Usul or Tank can give the solution...
