Wings of Fury (Remake)

Post by Eric »

I noticed a screenshot of this game in another thread and a reference to a remake which seemed interesting - and here it is.

This is a remake of a really popular game of the early ninetees, called Wings of Fury. The new version brings it back in new glory, with enhanced graphics and sounds.

Genre: Side Scroller

The game is very true to the original. Biggest problem most people have in this game, is landing and taking off.
Taking off in Wings of fury is really easy if you think it through. You have to first press E to start your engine (the weird thing is that you can move your plane withou strating the engine, which really makes most people not realise that something is wrong). Then you have to gather speed. The more runway the better, so turn the plane around and go back a little, then turn around again and give the plane full throttle up the runway. This way, when you get to the end of the ship, there will be no problem taking off. When you have to land, just cirkle the ship a couple of times until you get down to a hight close to level with the runway, and then fly in from the right towards the left, lower you landing gear in good time, and see if you cant get your plane down now...
I am not saying that landing is easy, but there should be no reason for crashing every time. It just takes a little practice.
The game is fun, and for some reason still takes me back to the times when I sat there, grinning as I dived with my guns blazing, and took down the entire stationed army on the island...
Have fun.

I am still sad that this game didn't make it. I will still recommend it to anyone.

This remake is so true to the original that you hardly can tell them apart.

I agree! It was one of the first games I tested for CWF and I still like it. Which means I return to it from time to time and I'm always entertained.

When I first played it took hours, before I managed to land without crashing, but after I learned how to do it "Wings of Fury" was great fun...
