Missing
"Missing" is an adventure with a very creepy atmosphere (reminded me of "5 Days a Stranger") and a great soundtrack.
You take the role of an american ex-cop who is in search for his wife and his son who were last seen in an old english inn. When you arrive there and try to figure out what happened, very soon strange things and spooky nightmares start. There seems to be a dark secret about the inn and its inhabitants, but what is it about?
Graphics and gameplay of "Missing" are a bit old fashioned, but the atmosphere is great. I played for about half an hour and I found myself biting my nails and wincing in front of my monitor twice.
There might be a problem with some monitors. At first I only had a black screen when I started the game, but after I changed my monitor to 60 Hz everything worked fine.

I was unable to take screenshots of the game, so I "stole" them from the homepage. Sorry!!!

In his own forum the developer told that the game was partly inspired by "Scratches" and several other games and horror movies. I think "Dark Seed" might as well be one of those.
I finished the game yesterday night and don't want to spoil to much of the story, but let me tell you that "Missing" will leave you with one of the most disturbing endings you ever saw. And I don't mean disturbing in a way that it is weird and strange (like "6 Days a Sacrifice"), but disturbing in a way that I'd never expected this ending.

Very annoyingly the game decided to shut down after I played around 45 minutes... And of course I didn't save... Not once...
Anyone have a savegame?
SPOILER:
I wrote something here about my progress:
I found out that my wife was snooping around. I talked to Gloria and the owners son, and the gartner. It has become nightfall and I talked to my friend Steve on th phone and found a number for Annette, but she is busy. I was about to go up and save when the game crashed. If you have a savegame please share.

I didnt have a single tech problem with Missing, my only problem is that game is very short. There's nothing wrong with games being short - Apprentice I is an example - unless this shortness is justified. Here, when atmosphere becomes thicker and you think there's brilliant adventure game ahead, you are in fact only few steps before the end. It's like getting hit by an anvil straight in the forehead and I'm not talking about power of end scenes. Pity.

Ok. After getting a savegame from PA, which was alot further in the game, I was very confused as to the story and what to do where, and what had been done. I found the atmosphere creepy enough, and the story unfolded nice for me. I do agree however that it wasn't too challenging to find out what to do and where to go. Clicking everything clickable was a bit on the easy side but sometimes a game can just be a good story unfolding before your eyes.
Without technical issues (the game crashed once more before I finally stopped playing and decided to vote) I would have enjoyed it more. However I haven't seen the end yet and I am not sure I am going to. Feel free to spoil it for me.
