Star Wars

Post by Pater Alf »

I know we already have some "Star Wars" games on the site, but here´s another one. This one is a remake of the original Atari game from 1984 and was made as an entry for the Retro Remakes Competition 2006.

It´s not as good as "Star Wars: The Battle of Yavin" (but which game is that good???), but it still has fine graphics, great sounds and music and is great fun to play. And last but not least: It´s not that difficult (you can choose between three difficulty modes) as other "Star Wars" games.

The Story: You play Luke Skywalker in the final battle of the end of "Episode IV: A New Hope". So it´s your task to fight against imperial Tie-Fighters and destroy the death star.

I truelly do remember playing this on my OLD computer. It was also made for other platforms than the Atari. like the PC which was the only way I played it.
A great game even then, and the Star Wars theme didn't hurt it back then either - that is for sure. Had one never heard of Star Wars then one might find this game a tad boring, but one would also be very weird of course to have never heard of Star Wars.
Cant wait to find time to play it.

Heck, I think it's the same one I played in the arcades, where it had its own cockpit you sat in.

If anyone know of a way to contact Minionsoft please let us know. We would really like to contact the guy about this game and his others as well. Even a real name would help a lot in the search for this guy. We are afraid the sight of his last news post from 2007 might mean that the game might disappear from the scene soon...
