I will try to look into that one. IT looks really cool. I am guessing these guys always went for boarding the shiops in Pirates! instead of just canonning them up.

A turn-based strategy game abou zombies? That really sounds promising. But unfortunately the game doesn´t run on my computer (I have no idea why)...
Game is available for Windows and Mac.

Bear Go Home
"Bear Go Home is a very cute, far eastern styled, side scrolling platform game, aimed at casual gamers. Players must help Bear find his way home but, without direct control over the bear, they must influence his movement by stretching and squeezing him to keep him. The highly intuitive control mechanism adds to the fun and quirky game play to maximise the accessibility of the game while providing great depth for more experienced players. The truly stunning and unique art style and original game play sets Bear Go Home apart from other games."
Sounds really interesting and I like the graphical style (or at least what I can see from the screenshots), but the game refuses to work on my computer...

An extremely strange game. Nothing wrong with the concept or the engine (except poor camera controls). It just needs some missions or something. As it is, it's a huge board of dudes and zombies. You recruit the dudes and kill the zombies. Game over, do the same thing again. If you take your time, you have overwhelming numbers and weapons and the zombies stand no chance. Not much of a point to this one. But it's a lot better than Épée...Pater Alf wrote:Zombies

I found a statement of one of the developers and it seems the game is still a bit unfinished (but on the other hand seems to work for many people, because you can find various statements about it throughout the net):Scythe wrote:Have you found instructions for it anywhere? It doesn't come with any, and seems pretty much unplayable without them. Pressing various keys primarily makes the game go into strange modes without graphics... Seems unfinished.
"Hey guys cheers for the article and helpful comments.
We do have plans to make an installer for the demo, but we ran out of time during the competition.
If you are having problems installing the game you need to install the latest DirectX Redistributable and the Visual C++ 8 Redistributable. Both of them can be found on microsoft's site. You will also need a mid level GFX card (Shader model 2.0 and above). Also the demo runs better on multi-core CPUs. (This may solve some of the problems with getting the other Dare games running).
Like I said we hope to have a complete installer so you won’t have to download these in the future.
Cheers again,
Chris."
I will keep an eye on that game and see what´ll happen to it in the future...

Tempo
Looks amazing (and I like the idea of a heroine that is bound to a wheelchair), but when I try to start the game, I just get a plain white screen and a soundtrack (which is beautiful by the way).
Story:
"Two civilizations in internal conflict. One is annihilated. One survivor remains. Tempo is a 3D platforming and puzzle solving video game featuring a psychically gifted heroine bound to a wheelchair but with telekinesis and spectral projection abilities that more than make up for it. Navigate detailed and immersive environment full of perils on your journey to save your race."

Looked at the homepage of the developer and it seems it's just a demo. But I can't find a hint if the whole game will be freeware as well...

Vektor Space
The sport of Vektor Space combines elements of strategy and action as contestants steer hyper-modified hover vehicles in an enclosed arena. Each hover vehicle, also known as a vektor, contains a Flux Drive, allowing the vehicles to make dramatic turns. The hover vehicles also distribute a Flux byproduct behind them that resembles a transparent wall, which is called neon. By forcing other vektors into the neon left behind a vehicle, a contestant can damage his opponents’ vektors. Gradually, the damage compounds, destroying the vektors. The last remaining contestant wins the match.
Created by digipen programmers. Looks good. Refuses to work. After clicking launch icon all i see is "ERROR" message displayed on taskbar. Cant be maximized or anything, the only way to close it is via task manager.

Works fine for me and seems to be a game that is quite ok. It's similar to "GLTron", but the perspective (camera angle) is much better, you play against up to eight opponents, you can control your moves much better and you can choose from four different vehicles or create an own one that can be upgraded during the game...

Propero, Kleptocracy and PHLOP.
Reasons:
Propero - game works, but screen is all black (except some lights visible in the distance)
Kleptocracy - I dont have proper video card
PHLOP - problems with fmod library, installing doesnt help and game doesnt want to detect the program, placing files in game folder helps only a bit, I still get error message, this time that path is incorrect or sth
PROPERO
Propero is a futuristic racing game featuring dynamic music and numerous graphical effects. It is a senior game project at DigiPen Insitute of Technology and has been developed by Happy Brain Games. HBG is comprised of Damon Thompson, Jason Runta, Ben Barrett, Pat Laukaitis and Matt Wilson.

"Kleptocracy!" was developed by a team of three programmers and four artists from DigiPen Institute of Technology over the course of eight months.

One digipen game as usual and one not.
BEMPU
Original pinball, sort of anti-pinball in fact, with moving targets, round tables and multiplayer (!!). Looks good.

FREEDROID CLASSIC
FreeDroid Classic is a clone of the game Paradroid which was released on Commodore 64 in 1985.
In this game, you control a robot located within an interstellar spaceship consisting of several decks connected by elevators. The aim of the game is to destroy all enemy robots by either shooting them or seizing control over them by creating connections in a short subgame of electric circuits.
The final version came out in august 2003 and runs on Linux, Mac OSX, Sharp Zaurus and even that strange Windows wannabe of an operating system.
