Rooms

Post by eMTe »

Description from indygamer.blogspot:

Rooms is a rather innovative puzzler by HandMadeGame, in which your character has to shuffle rooms around to arrive at the exit in each level. Only the room you're currently in can be moved, though items can be used to teleport from one place to the other.

The primarily goal of Rooms is to exit from the Rooms mansion. The secondary objective of Rooms is to collect every part of the final puzzle and getting good score, by arranging every room's position to make an entire image.

Every room's background is part of whole image of the stage. The linked background is a hint, which lets player know where each room should be placed. In addition to moving rooms, using right object and items at right time is another consideration.

Uploaded Colorblind (btw, demonews download works perfect), as for Rooms... Well, type in google 'rooms freeware puzzle' or whatever... Happy searching, but I promise to try too.

My download is on old disk which can serve at the moment only as a beer coaster. :/

I made the developer aware of the download not working and he re-uploaded the game to Filefront. I still had to try twice though to get the download working.
On another note I can tell you that Kim Jonghwa has told me they are currently working on a commercial version of Rooms.
I will put the file up on the FTP for Game hunters to retrieve. Then we will just have to see if the game makes validation so we can offer it here. That might get us a link from Handmadegame.com.

An interesting puzzler. Not too hard to clear, but very hard to get perfect on. Some of the timing puzzles were a little tough - such as when flooding a chamber and you have to save yourself from drowning. A couple of glitches where I got stuck in a wall after climbing a ladder. Not too much longevity though, but you can always try to go for a perfect.

This is a beautiful game, but it has some graphical flaws like you cant always tell what is going on on the screen.
Brillian game and lots of fun moments, like when oyu use the phone. Had me surprised, I didn't see it coming.
I have to say it is not my kind of game, but I still felt this was able to capture me in front of the screen a lot longer than its competitors in the genre.
Good job, and did I say it was beautiful. The music is great too, but gets on your nerves when there is a puzzle you cant solve...
