As we all know, you weren't always lurking. :D (637 posts)

But it's good that you're watching over us still, even from the shadows.

Now, is that a party I hear getting ready back there?

Hey, happy birthday, Dizi!

/Railo runs a BR Railfreight to Newcastle with a goods van loaded with roses.

May your day be a happy one indeed!

True. So I will just leave this case of Malibu behind the counter, where nobody can possibly find it...

BTW: It is good to see so many friends gathering in here. Beers for all from me. (You have to have something to get rid of that substitute milk taste in the back of your mouths.)

And Scythe, If you run into women with more limbs sticking out than you think they should have, do me a favor and run....run like the wind.

Woohoo, Dizzy has a birthday, Dizzy has a birthday!!

edit: Dizi HAD a birthday

Belated :( wishes then.

My official ghing comeback will be a bit delayed too... :( My old comp melted (together with router as some of you know ;) ) and since I finally decided to buy a laptop (waited only for old comp to go to hell) I still cant decide what to buy. Found good and relatively cheap one with Core 2 Duo, but with Vista installed. I'm afraid of Vista. Dont even know if games will work. :?

Hello all again btw. :)

Welcome back!

Hope you find a nice laptop soon (if you don´t like Vista, why don´t you delete it and install XP instead?), so you can start gamehunting again. We really could use your help... :)

Thank you all for the kind wishes, and I don't mind late wishes, my friend gave me a card yesterday and on it was a really big badge that said I was 30 today...so I wore it to the pub we went to, I don't think he expected me to do that :p but no one commented on how young I looked, so maybe I look old for my 24 years

Here is a pic of it so you can see how big it was

Stupid question. What are points, who implemented them (I feel I know :P ) and did it happen over one night or was it a planned feature (didnt find any traces of discussion anywhere).

Curiosity killed the cat, but I'm the coyote, luckily. :P

Well, things just happen eMTe ;)
Calculation is a bit confusing though. Posts have minimal affect on points. Suggested and accepted (and uploaded) games have larger impact, multiplied by game hunter's rating. Also each different suggested file gives points.(If for example you suggest game: "killer curiosity - cat's revenge to coyotes" but give only windows details and scythe later gives info about linux and mac versions -> scythe will gain some points too. Or if you suggest game with windows, linux and OSE versions, then you'll get points for a game and 3 different files). Reviews give points too - depending on review rating. More accurate details are in this thread AFAIR (some pages ago).

And no. this was not discussed too much - someone did a dictator action...

Now also the ranking is based on points. It is also possible to choose from 2 (untill Dotty finishes third) ranking options. Those are explained in some thread in feedback or suggestion box forums (some sticky thread would be good though ;) ). At the moment the selection of ranking system is done by PMing to me :p I will do the 'select your ranking tree' option in user panel - when I'll find the time.

Actually, I decided to have time tonight. Now there's buttons in profile where you can choose the "ranking names". I just wish Dotty has not forgot to do the games based ranking thingee he promised ;)

Add TODO list: Improve coding regarding changing ranking names. (It is terribly horribly crappy code. coded like a pig...)

Sorry for triple posting but I wrote the ranks in feedback (or suggestions?) thread :)
