Well this game comes highly recommended.
It is a mixed genre game, and I haven't tried it yet. I just fell on the recommandations as the BEST freeware game out there, and thought "hm....We gotta have that".

Ive played it a couple of years ago. Japanese title is "Doukutsu Monogatari" btw... It's not only one of the best freeware platformers, it's one of the best platformers ever made. Hint for gamehunters: a must-have for our site.
