What Are You Listening To?
Like the topic says, where the devil is our must-have music thread, with your listening picks of the moment?
For a couple days now I've been listening to some songs from the Fahrenheit game (Indigo Prophecy to you yanks). Specifically, Theory of a Dead Man with "Santa Monica" and Martina Topley-Bird with "Sandpaper Kisses." Especially the latter one is tickling me something awful, in a good way.
"Just a Girl, with featherweight Curls,
To expose all She knows, you play like Tease."
It's a thing of beauty, people! Dreamy music, dreamy lyrics, good stuff.
Also, my latest albums are Radiohead ones. I'm in love with "A Wolf at the Door." (Alternate title: "It Girl. Rag Doll.")
"Step up, Get the Gunge, Get the Eggs, Get the Flan in the Face, the Flan in the Face, the Flan in the Face, Dance you f***, Dance you f***, Don't you Dare, Don't you Dare, Don't you Flan in the Face."
Indeed.

I've amassed a bit of a collection of excellent-condition Glenn Miller 78 RPM records, mostly RCA Bluebird seal. Some are the Victor seal too.
I've been playing them on my cabinet-style Crosley record player, using a spcial U-shaped needle made specially for the wider grooves on 78 RPMs.
I've got many of the popular recordings- Pennsylvania 6-5000, Moonlight Serenade, Tuxedo Junction, Kalamazoo, At Last, and even Miller's last radio broadcast tune on the Chesterfield Hour, Jukebox Saturday Night. I've also got many of the lesser known recordings, such as Sleepy Town Train, Delilah, The Man with the Mandolin, and Bugle Call Rag.
I love the music from that era, it's of a quality that hasn't been seen since.

Old trains never die. They just sit in ruin and wait until the day they are taken in by a skilled craftsman and rebuilt to their former glory.

I may not know much about Glenn Miller, but that's a sweet setup you've got there, Rawie.

Im very commercial currently. I fell over Snow Patrol - Chasing cars ya ccident and didn't know them or the song until I found out later that it was a rather commercial hit. I hate it when that happens.
Great song though.

Currently, I'm very fond of a Danish metal band called "Volbeat"... They've just released a new CD, and it really ROCKS!!!
(<--- It looks a bit like it's playing guitar

Anybody listening to Danish national radio P3 will have heard "I'll Kill Her" by French SoKo. She may never make another hit (the rest of her music isn't very interesting), but this one is so charming. Listen to it here:

Well in that case, THAT is what I am listening to at the moment. Good song. She seems to have some issues with another woman.
Is she French (based on her accent.)

MY stepdad told me that there was one song from the Beatles he couldn't find on any cd - "Rain". Do you know of a cd that holds that particular number. I would love to find it for him. Besides finding it as a single.

Right now I'm listening to the whine of four 10,000 RPM SCSI hard drives in my personal system. Four 36 GB Ultra SCSI drives. This is cool!
My old Maxtor IDE hard drive broke down, and I managed to salvage some data before it totally died, and replaced it with four SCSI drives. I like. I like a lot...

This is definently one of my favourite songs.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9jYRVXMjV8
I think it is beautifully written and the music is well structured. This is one of those songs that I have to concentrate not singing VERY loud too, when I have my headphones on.

Well time to revive this thread methinks.
I'm listening to some old pre-WWII 78 RPM records. Got a stack of six on. First was 'Charlie Spivak- My Devotion' then 'Artie Shaw- Moonglow' Nw I got the third record on 'Glenn Miller- Slow Freight' followed by more GM: 'Chattanooga Choo Choo', 'American Patrol', and 'Fifth Avenue'.
These are very good playing records too. I love the warm sound they have.

Actually I am getting into some classic oldies revival mood, with Beatles "Across the universe" coming in on a secure first place.
Also a Dansih singer called Tina Dickow is high on my list for easylistening. I never really listened to her before.
