Because the Isometric beta version was still a Beta, I didn't count it as a full free game - I labeled this post 'Classic' to show there was a different (original) version and when that new version is nearer completion purhaps we can have a new entry.
I didn't think much of this game myself - I was just desparate for some Fallout-y gaming

I'm not sure about which version we are talking (and also which version I should test as a game hunter). There seem to be two different versions of Abaddon (Classic): v0.5 and v1.04B
It seems to me that these are not the same game...
BTW: I'm playing Abaddon v0.5 at the moment and I really like it. Scenario reminds me of the great RPG "Wasteland" I played on the Commodore 64 many years ago.

This is the same game, but version 1.04 beta is enhanced. Am not sure how big the differences are though (most likely majority of bugs fixed and better graphics, less likely additional maps/characters/subquests added) - there were more versions in the past afair... I remember 0.9 at least.
But this is still "classic" Abaddon which means it is top-down console-style game.

Yes, it is "Abaddon Classic". But Version 1.04 has another skill system, another system of levelling up, other enemies, not the same map than version 0.5.
I haven't looked at all the differences so far, because Version 1.04 doesn't run to well on my system (no sounds, text is scrolling very slowly or much too fast and so on). But in my eyes these two are not the same game at all.

I think you're right. I will change the name of the thread to "Abbadon (Classic) V0.5".
Chroelles link goes to this version as well, with my link you can find the official homepage with both games and the isometric beta.
I also decides to make this thread the official thread for Version 0.5 because I tried both games and V0.5 seemed more stable and less buggish to me (but maybe it´s just on my computer).
So, feel free to open a thread for Abbadon V1.04 as well...

OK, now I see the differences...
When I first played Abaddon a couple of years ago I must have downloaded version 1.x, because 0.5 I'm playing now is completely different - worse graphics, different interface, music...at least storyline is similar.
Thx Pater.

When taking screenshots, I decided to try and play this game for a while. Good grief, it's bad! 10 minutes progress, 2 hours leveling up, rinse repeat. This kind of RPG was dated twenty years ago. Add to that retarded English (by choice, no less!), and it's good for showing me how not to make an RPG at least. (And still, I do feel like trying to see what's next, but that's the gamer in me.) So far the most positive thing I've found about it, is that it doesn't take very long to reload your last save game. Shame you have to do so every 30 seconds.
