I will try to go and add another game in a minute. I will let you know if there are still any bugs with it. If there are any not any bugs, do you then feel that the game-adding tool is ready for use once it is updated on main site?

I think so. But we have to move all changes at once, because there is 'dependencies'. IE some changes require other changes done in order to work... Therefore we cannot just move game adding related files. And thus all features should have at least been tested, and preferably bugs also fixed before the move.

I found some glitches...
I am figuring that some of them might be becasue you were doing some work in there.

Front page unlogged:

The left column was pushed bigger into the min column. See screenshot.
The buttom of the side was way longer than it was supposed to. See screenshot.

Front page logged:
Decription of game at spotlight (Should be IN spotlights) is way too long. I remember you saying something about you having fixed this, and this is why I mention it. You mihgt have missed one. In spotlights was Cybernoid.

I will say what I get from gameadding in a sec.

Thx again C :)

Bottom is because there's invisible adverticing going on... ^_^;
(I'll fix it later :D )

And left panel is so wide, because there's such a long row in description. Normally there propably will not be that long rows. (Imeanlettersbeingtypedtogetherwithoutspacesbetweenthem). Such a writing style does not allow HTML to cut the line automatically. It's hard to do other fix, except decide to use spaces between words :D

Here, you see it in the screenshot too:
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I
JUST HAD TO EDIT THIS A BIT
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
eMTe. I believe those things should have been fixed. And if they arent.... Well, it may be that I end up writing wholly new edit tool rather than starting to hack this one....

Anyways, such a major change in this crappy code requires time...

I wrote this in a textdocument while testing so if there are any things mentioned that are solved please bare with me :D

When going for accurate voting on THE UNKNOWN GAME I got this:
Template->make_filename(): Error - template file not found: ../site/advanced_voting.tpl
I had already voted normally… This might have an affect on what template file is missing. I mean that the accurate voting template might be there, but the one saying that I had already voted elsewhere might be missing.
I just saw a mention saying Not yet functional…

I also submitted a review for the unknown game, and I wanted to see where you could get reviews accepted but I can’t seem to find it anywhere…
Currently my review is showing a score of –100 and if you press it you get:
bad review id

And it is showing this url:
http://YOU KNOW WHAT TO WRITE HERE.connect-webdesign.dk/MazTest/show_review.php?rid=18

Also I checked through some games in spotlights and it seems bubble bobble was the only one having the problem.

Might have something to do with your edit in the middle of it…I just realised…

I visted Wesnoth page and it said something quite mysterious to me in the top of the page:
Admin mode on - Game status is: Accepted for download showing all reviews unvalidated 0/1.
The 0/1 seems weird to me – couldn’t it just be 0? Also the fact that the game even has the info on the page is a bit weird, but is it only showing for admins???

Tried the edit game data thingy. It seems to be lacking a REMOVE GAME VERSION option. I added a Special Version of Glace, and I cannot remove it, as there is no place to do so in the edit tool.

I added a new game called Test2 and had to go with the option that the screenshot was not uploaded, since it kept telling me that there was either illegal chars in it, no pic at all or something…

EDITED BY Maz
Thanks for the output C, I'll check it out. (I did not want to leave it visible on open forum so I cutted it off and stored for later analyzation. Right now I'm a bit busy, but I'll answer asap. ) Oh, and reviews should be validated using 'site control panel' (at the bottom of every pages)

I did use the same pic for both screenie options. I thought this would also test if you accidentally did so, and would give me a correction… I don’t know if it did.

This was my testing for now. Anything I missed?

I found something that might be a bug: You can rate the same game over and over again...

I´m not sure if this is wanted because the overall rating is always the same as the last vote. Might be because I´m the only one who rated a certain game and you can change your vote when you made up your mind?

If it is just a matter of changing your vote then I think we should keep it. But if one member can place more than one vote... then it is definently a bug.

Changing own vote should be possible. But only 1 vote should be registered. (New vote should overwrite ones previous vote). That's how I planned it. I also believe it says something about changing previous vote when one revotes.

C, I'll check the review validation thing when I have time. But right now I do not :| (I'll also answer to your PM then + shed some light to things you brought out in this thread.

Checked again and you´re right. It only casts the last vote and says "revote" when you already voted before...

It should actually be working, but there were a bug due to the pre multiling support. Fixed now though :)

Yes, that's cause the review is not validated.
I'll check you have validator rights... ...Oh yes. It seems I forgot to give you the rights :D Sorry. Access granted now ^_^;

Yes. Info is only shown for admins. Hence text admin mode on :D 0/1 is 0 unvalidated out of 1 of total reviews. That way the admin can see if ratio goes bad.. (for example 5/5 unvalidated reviews qould be a bad thingee ;) )
Chroelle wrote: Tried the edit game data thingy. It seems to be lacking a REMOVE GAME VERSION option. I added a Special Version of Glace, and I cannot remove it, as there is no place to do so in the edit tool.
Yes. All remove options are missing. That will be done in admnpanel version X... Meanwhile the removing will generally be a pain..
Chroelle wrote: I added a new game called Test2 and had to go with the option that the screenshot was not uploaded, since it kept telling me that there was either illegal chars in it, no pic at all or something…
That's allright. The screenshot file was propably not on that place you specified :) I'll later check it myself.. But when you add games to real site, please use this option. That way we should avoid the painfull 'change typos from database regarding screenies paths' thingee ;) Although I believe I will do it so, that ALL screenies should be uploaded into one (secured) folder, from where they cannot be stolen to other sites. And that path would be hardcoded into the site's code, so that only filename needs to be given.
Chroelle wrote: I did use the same pic for both screenie options. I thought this would also test if you accidentally did so, and would give me a correction… I don’t know if it did.
No, this kind of a checking is not done. I will consider adding it in future. (not highest priority IMO though)
Chroelle wrote: This was my testing for now. Anything I missed?
Well, I still have a few bugs open... And I believe you can cease testing untill I have fixed those. Mmm.. The thing with 'Test 2' game is strange. I tried to locate it last night, and it seems that add game script did not work correctly for you... And ATM. I do not know what was the actual bug in there. I need to continue unvestigating... Zyx, if you happend to have time in your hands, could you check this out? I'll write a short description of the problem in dev forum... I believe you could spot the problem better than I, since you know SQL better than me :)

And I found the bug in add game thingee... It may set invalid developer ID which causes query from database later to fail... :| I'll see what's the matter with it.

Non 'accepted for download' games are no more visible 'at spotlights'.

I tried to investigate the add game bug a bit more, but I simply cannot understand what caused that :(

Is it possible that you tested it again C? If you manage to reproduce the error, please write me the print it does after adding the game, as well as the options you used in developer fields, thanks :)

Interesting new design on the test site...

Tried to register as a new member on the test site and found the following text in the validation-area: "Validation: To make sure you are not a robot, please type what letters you see in the image right".

As there is no image with letters on the right, so maybe you should delete this sentence?

Another bug: When you want to sort the memberlist according to last visit it doesn´t work. Instead it will be sorted according to alphabet.

thx PA :) registration bug sounds serious. I hope I have just forgot to do some edits on testarea, and that the registration works on real site...

Well, design is just a test I did last night. I don't know if it will be finished or used for real :)
