Just some wild guesses...
Try finding updated graphics card drivers and install them. (possible)
If crashes occurs only when you try to play movies on web, perhaps it's the flash? (just a thought)
Have you installed anything lately? (or removed)
And lastly... Remove Windows XP and install Linux
(Well, if you install Fedora, then prepare to do some coniguring before movies work

When you say that is crashes or freezes, you mean all the PC or just the window that you are watching the movie? If all your pc freezes, I am afraid that your graphics card overheats and stops responding.
If it is only the window you are viewing, then try to download new drivers for your card. Maybe that will do the trick as Maz says.

If it's that new, don't you have a guarantee for it?

Do you remember when this started to happen? Maybe you did something and is causing the hold-ups. Try to do a system restore to an earlier date and see what happens...Pepsi wrote:didnt help to doenload updated stuff

Try another vid card in your computer if you have one.
I find sometimes that there might be a conflict between codecs and drivers. Is your vid card manufactured by GeForce or does it only use that chipset? If it has a different manufacturer, you might need to get those drivers...instead of the nVidia's drivers...of course you could try either...I had similar problems with a mobile Radeon...
Also what version of XP are you running? SP2??
