4D Prince of Persia
Well I think all of us remember Prince of persia. This is a remake of it. It has the same level-design and looks precisely like the old gem.

BTW, it doesn't have the same level design than the original game (Chroelle said so in his first post), but everything else is exactly the same...
I really enjoyed this game, but I have one question: Does anybody know how many big potions you can gain in level 1? When you explore the whole level you can see several of them (4-5 I think) but there was only a single one I could reach. Are the other potions just a fake?

Of course I did mean graphics design
My bad
I think we will have to go with general consensus on this one and agree that it MUST be freeware.

And there are more remakes if you read carefully... Looking for downloads atm...
edit: always forget to be precise...here are other remakes mentioned:
http://popuw.com/forum/viewforum.php?f= ... b658cd7cec
Actually it's not too hard make your own, even without programming knowledge. Links to special editors can be found on the above site.
edit2: above means the one in my previous post...I wrote it before first edit.
Made total mess of my post. D'oh!

Second level is..uh...tricky. Can be done in about 3 minutes, but it's one of the trickiest level in any platform game Ive ever played. 100 bucks for anyone wholl beat it in first try without walkthrough. Dang tricky. Love this game.

I played it some time ago and seems I forgot to comment afterwards. I didn't finish it but the feel of the game is so PoP that I had to comment on it. This game could very well have been a topscorer with a little easier learning curve. Game is currently too hard for me to turn back to it now. I will need a lot more time, but PoP was definently one of my favourite games back then.

Hi Chroelle & everyone else on the forum
About 6 years ago I did up a small personnel homepage with information on some games including 4D Prince of Persia. The 4D Prince of Persia information includes system requirements, cheats, comparision of Prince of Persia level & 4D Prince of Persia opening screenshots and screenshot of some level editors. The only information not so up-to-date is there are more level editors now.
View site here.
Chroelle, you may use the information and screenshots if you want. (Screenshots captured by me long ago). Please view this before 26 Oct09, otherwise the you won't see it anymore as Geocities is closing.

HI JKSM!!!!
Long time no see. I would love to use the info there. I just need to get a grip on my time to get it teleported from one place to another.

Odd. I thought that your homepage should be dedicated to Pushover. Consider me surprised.
As for editors there were quite a lot, but I cant check it now, links from my previous posts dont work anymore. Pity, because this was really great site this "popuw".

No I don't mind. I offered it mainly to Chroelle because we know each other quite long and that he has the game for download so it would be good for him to add more content.Drasir-Vel wrote:Downloaded the site. oh.. Hope you don't mind
Anyway, the site will stay till 26 Oct09 because geocities is closing so saving/viewing has to be done before that date.
That's a good one.eMTe wrote:Odd. I thought that your homepage should be dedicated to Pushover. Consider me surprised.

Although the games I put there are not many, they were only put up based on inspiration, after getting complete information and mainly to provide information on games that no one has provided adequately ie give these game a proper chance to be considered. The games there are only games that I am very familiar with.
The intention was to provide as complete information as possible on a game (links to original site, hints, cheats, review, screenshot, comparisons etc) and share with others. Those few games there were games that I found nice and previously did an extensive research on them to enjoy them even more. However, for these games, I found no one website with all the information. Some sites specialize in level editors, some in technical problem and download sites at most had reviews. Fans of a game appreciate all the extras.
Opening screenshot comparisons for Prince of Persia was my original idea.
The other original idea was Mario Vs Donkey Kong review only with screenshot comparison to show how the developer could have obtained their idea though evolvement of other games. For these you wouldn’t find on other sites unless someone copies my idea.

My main page is here

Oh, you found your way to the editors pages, lol. Those external site links / editors no need to worry about those, can refind them again except it take some work searching. I didn’t update the external links for quite long already. As for editors there were quite a lot, but I cant check it now, links from my previous posts dont work anymore. Pity, because this was really great site this "popuw".
The main thing I wanted to share was the screenshots, reviews and some information are all originally done by me. To retake screenshot etc would take time and effort. I doubt that I’ll redo it again after the site closes as the new version of IE & Mozilla have problems with certain uploads/viewing.

So if you are in search of a new website to add lots and lots of information about games on, then I might suggest - www.curlysworldoffreeware.com?

Re: 4D Prince of Persia
I see that you eventually put 4D Prince of Persia up for download. Maybe I should fill you in all about this game and improvements you can make. Long time I explored and read a lot about this game so I know a fair bit and also did helped some people on another forum having technical problems with it. Let me tell you all I know about Prince of Persia.
Prince of Persia has Version 1.0, 1.1, 1.3 and 1.4. Not sure whether version 1.2 was ever sold but it was never seen on the internet. Of all the versions, Version 1.3 has the best sound effects. Version 1.4 came as part of re-release Prince of Persia collection on CD-ROM. Kirill Terebilov "4D Prince of Persia" used a Prince of Persia level editor called "Princedit" to modify / create new levels for Prince of Persia and released this as freeware which you would see all over the internet. For levels that were not changed, some of the graphics were changed.
However, when modifying the game, Kirill created a technical problem in the game. After Level 10, an error message will pop up stating to insert disk and will get stuck there. I had tried the game uploaded on your site and it has the same problem. Long ago, I downloaded the patched file - it was patched by Princed Developer. The link in the original site where the patch was posted is now a dead. Fortunately, I am one of those who still have the file. Download this patched file to replace "Kirill.dat" file in your POP4D game. Then start the game as normal.
Suggestion: It might be good for you to have the patch somewhere for download if you do not directly replace it in the zip file put up for download. Otherwise, those who download will run for technical help.
There are various level editors for Prince of Persia namely:
- PV3 (Easiest to use, What You See Is What You Get)
- Roomshaker (can open POP4D levels, POP4D levels were created with a linking bug so most editors have trouble opening it)
- Princedit (Used to create POP4D levels)
- PopMap
See screenshots here. On that same site, you can download level editors PV3 & Roomshaker, mods, video recorder, sound extracter etc and shows development of freeware Prince of Persia written from scratch is in progress. This is the same place where the patched file originally came from though now their link for it is dead.
My knowledge of Prince of Persia Level editors and 4D Prince of Persia came from princed.org site but as that was many years back, the site had since reorganised and some of this information is no longer at the main page.
Hope the information is helpful. I only wanted to improve the quality of the game with that patch. After all, remember Chroelle mentioning long ago that one of the objective was to provide quality games.
If you have any queries, feel free to ask.
