If you ever played "The Dig" then this game will propably appeal to you. I got the whoe Dig-vibe when I started it up. I only just started it up, and haven't really gotten to the exciting parts yet, but I will, and so far I am interested...
It looks like a Must-Play.

I especially liked the emptiness feeling in The Dig. This emptiness creates suspense, you just walk around, discover various alien devices, but still feel that something hides beneath the surface. Brilliant game (after disappointing Full Throttle) that was completely slated in reviews - reviewers couldnt understand the fact that this is "serious" game and they wanted another Monkey Island-like one.
Stargate is somewhat different, emptiness is nonexistent (as youll see in later chapters) and everything from graphics to storyline is not even half as good as in The Dig, but as a freeware game it is one of the 15-20 best ever created imho. If I had to find similar "oldie" it would be Ringworld probably.

I've never in my life watched the Stargate TV series, so this didn't mean much to me, apart from being a decent adventure game. There are too few puzzles though, and a huge empty break in the middle of the game, which isn't too long to begin with, so unless you're a fan of the series, there might not be too much for you here.

I did eventually get the game to work and finished it.
The graphics in some places are good, while they in others are quite horrible. Also I really hated that there was so much dialogue in the game. at least 3 times I leaned back watching boring diaogue scenes thinking that they might be important, and then they are not! Not the least!
I was entertained and there were lots of locations. Even some where you didn't have to do anything. That is a pro in my book.
It definently had the feel of The dig, and of many other lucasart games, but with an excellent Stargate adaption. I was occupied with this game for some time, and did finish it, which speaks volumes since I sometimes have a hard time keeping to games if they are not too interesting for me. So this one did get me, but it still has a few "buts..." that keeps it from getting a perfect score. And the length was not too long. I think I will go play The infinity string by the same developer now. I think that will be a bit better.
