I'm not sure if this issue was already discussed somewhere, so I'm giving some suggestions of features that are missing in majority of freeware sites.
1. Link to author's/developer's site. Small developers not always host their games, so it would be nice to let people know more about them, their other projects and such.
2. Mail to author. This will need permission of course (I take it on myself), but will give the chance to say sth nice to people who put so much effort (and sometimes money) in making a game. And maybe author would want to post on forum about his game. This would be absolutely great imo... And of course, he would maybe want to put our banner on his site...

Excellent idea!
Open source is great thing IMO, and creators of open source software should be really thanked (and at least mentioned), since that's about all they'll ever get from their hard work!

Advancing report.
I've been working on this page. It seems we might eventually get something ready
Unfortunately MrG. has had life outside of internet. So he has been forced to devote some of his time to the persons he loves/who loves he. I do not mean to say that we do not love him in here, but well...
Anyways, he has had some issues reducing the time he has had to work with this site, so development has slowed down slightly. Surely I do hope he would stop living outside of internet, but it seems he likes his real life too much to give it up
generally things are going quite well, I'm slowly re-learning php, and I'm quite hopefull

Could be an idea... That might give people an idea about how close to the original the game is...
If you look at a game like Bruce lee and the remake we have, there are almost no difference, but if you then look at Master of Magic and Leylines there is a world of difference....
