God, the most boring match so far. But if Turkey reaches the final, I might tell you a funny story about it anyway. But don't hope for it: I sent a mail to the UEFA and asked if they could throw out both teams and keep Portugal in the final round instead...

Hmm, the Uefa refused to answer my request. So it seems Turkey is really in the half final and will play against Germany on wednesday. What a big surprise...

The funny story (in fact it is not really funny) about the game is that I was a bit stressed out from my job yesterday and didn't eat anything the whole day except for breakfast at 10 am. Right after work I went to a bar to see the match and started drinking beer. Because the game was soo boring I drank a bit more beer than you should with a sober stomach. Not really much, but when it came to the penalty shootout I was quite drunk and had some problems to follow the whole thing. So right at the end I mismatched something (or maybe missed something) and didn't get that Turkey already won the match. So when all the players were cheering and jumping around I shouted something like: "They should stop making party and go on with the penalty shootout. I don't want to wait the whole evening!". The whole bar looked very confused and then I realized that I made a donkey out of myself...

Ok, enough about me, here's the result:

Croatia - Turkey 0:0 (2:4 after penalty shootout)

None of our players guessed the result or the tendency of the match right, so there are no points to give today...

Hm... I am not sure what to say about the result of last nights match... I have good feelings about both Russia and the Netherlands as you might have read so far, and now I am beginning to hope that Russia might provide me with 7 points in here, but lets see.

I didn't watch the game as my daughter was sick again but I got to see the first goal in replay and the last goal too. Didn't see the others so far.

It is amazing how all matches seem to go into overtime... I think the final stages of the groups were more exciting than the 120 minute matches of the quarterfinals...
But I am glad Spain moved on. Now I am just afraid what they will do to my Russians...

Thank you, Tank! Just a little correction: Pater Alf gets two points (one for the right tendency in the match Netherlands - Russia as well):

1. Pater Alf 25 points (4/13 )
2. Zyx 19 points (4/7)
3. Usul 19 points (3/10 )
4. eMTe 17 points (3/8 )
5. Chroelle 16 points (3/7)
Tank 16 points (3/7)
7. Maz 6 points (0/6)

Nearly all of the group winners are out (except Spain) as they lost their rythm in the quarter final. And so we get two half finals, that most people won't have expected:

Germany - Turkey
Russia - Spain

Might be very interesting to watch Germany - Turkey in Berlin (which is the third biggest turkish city in the world)...

I am going to bid now, since it seems my luck changed and my guesses turned out alright.

Germany-Turkey: 3-0 (I suspect Turkey will be slaughtered since they simply lack players...) And it is not even thanksgiving.... ...I know...

Russia-Spain: 1-2
To secure some points no matter what (If Russia wins I am closer to getting the 7 points., and if they loose I get points now). I do suspect it might be 1-1 at full time and we will get another 120 minute match.

Germany - Turkey 3:2

It seems that Germany is the most surprising team in the tournament (but not in a positive way). When they start playing you'll never know what to expect. Sometimes they play brilliant football and sometimes they play so bad that it's hard to watch. Yesterday it was one of their bad days again, but it was still enough to beat Turkey with a last-minute-goal (which seemed to be a special trick of Turkey before)...

Everyone who guessed expected Germany to win, but nobody guessed the right result. So Tank, Usul, Zyx, Chroelle and Pater Alf get 1 point each.

The table:

1. Pater Alf 26 points (4/14 )
2. Zyx 20 points (4/8 )
3. Usul 20 points (3/11 )
4. eMTe 17 points (3/8 )
Chroelle 17 points (3/8 )
Tank 17 points (3/8 )
7. Maz 6 points (0/6 )

So for me to win now, I have to get both the result of the finals right and Russia has to be the winning team, and also PA has to guess everything wrong... along with Zyx, usul, eMTe and Tank who has to guess that Germany wins the finals.
I have already put my result down on tonights match, so that wont help me much since if I get that right that means Russia is out...
And I have had such an unlucky day... I think I might not win this.

You're still allowed to change your guess. Who knows, it might change the day into a lucky one...

In that case I would like to change my guess to...say.... 3-0 to Spain. :D

I didnt watch the match, since I had some work to do that couldn't wait... But thats ok. It seems it was fair and square (though rumour is that Russia shouldnt have lost that big.)

We give 7 points for the right champion. It was said so in the first post of this thread.
