Well I have had a very productive day here on the site. I have been working more or less non stop for 6 hours just doing licensechecking and such.
So that very nice feeling I have inside right now needs toasting to.

Beers are on the house (well on me).

Cheers. :beersong:

I may be able to play more games on the go soon. The Boy Scouts sent me a laptop to fix, and they don't need it back till next spring, cause it's for camp. So I'm using it for myself till then. It's a P3-650 with 192 RAM on it.

We'll see what happens with this though. Mostly I'm still using my Armada 7800 as a productivity tool.

Thanks for the beer, Chroelle! I'm still at work, but it's weekend and my boss is not around. So I think I can drink one...

Good to see somebody's doing actual work! This week I bought myself into poverty with Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed and Guitar Hero III, so freeware is off the rack for a few days. ;)

Had any issues with Assasins creed yet. I heard they have had massive complaints about the game freezing.

Oh and dont forget to make a thread about the in the offline gaming forum :D That way we can discuss them there. :D

I am hoping to get Mass Effect and Assassins creed at some point. They are both on my wishlist for post-X-mas gifts for myself. Along with Halflife 2 - episode 2.

Hey, I'm at work again and most of the kids are still sleeping (or went to sport competitions). So what is your excuse for surfing CWF that early on a sunday morning???

And while I'm still here, I take a big coffee and a nice breakfast!

Well I have a kid. :D
She gets up at 7.30 more or less. But I am actually awake before her. And then we cozy up until 8.00 and then she gets breakfast and we sit down and play for a while, and then when she is having a good time playing then I go sit by the computer.

I still haven't eaten breakfast or gotten a cup of coffee, so maybe I should do that. :D

How old are the kids?

Most of them are teenagers in fact (youngest are 10, oldest are 18 ), so they will probably sleep until noon if they don't have training or competitions. And I can understand them as many of them really have hard weeks with lots of training...

What precisely is the place about? I thought it was like an "orphanage" in lack of a better word. Where kids go if their parents cannot take care of them. Did I just read something into it that it was not?

No, that was my old job...

This place is a boarding school for young talented athletes (aged between 10 and 18 ). It's my job to take care of them outside school/trainig, help them with homeworks and other problems, be in contact with trainers and parents etc...

Well, I was an active swimmer when I was a kid/youth. But work in shifts didn't leave much time for that anymore. So now I just do some running and swimming from time to time.

And the job is quite ok. Much more relaxing than the old one, much better conditions, but in another way not that satisfying than the old one (because I'm not that much needed).

I know what you mean. I had that extremely hard job, where kids where mistreated at home, and was generally very bad functioning. Now I work with rich kids, that have all they need, and still want more. My biggest problem thourhgout the day is getting kids to understand they cant get everything they point at. (Well not all are rich, but it is a rich city).
The kids are very selfish, but actually so were the ones at my old job too, but for different reasons. The old kids were used to "if you dont fight for yourself then nobody will", and the new kids have a "I want it all" problem.
So my last job was far more satisfying but EXTREMELY hard on ones psyche. My heart really hardened while I was there. You got tough, because that was the way you got through. The kids didn't need soft hearts. They needed caring, and that was way better givin through a professional approach with a little heart in it, than by giving them this complete warm and heartfull person, that might quit at some point, and how were they supposed to connect with that.
Worst time of my life, and best time of my life (apart from fatherhood).

BTW: Go read the bugs thread and be amazed :D

Couldn't have said it better! Except for the fact that I don't think my heart got hardened, but my psyche. But it was always a hard balance between being the professional educator and a heartful and caring person (a thing most of the kids needed because they never experienced it before). After six and a half year I felt burnt out (but it also had to do with a new boss and the fact that the money for social work was cut down radically in Germany during the last few years).

Both AC and ME are on my X360, and I've had no problems. AC hasn't frozen even once, and I haven't experienced any frame rate issues or anything else tech-y I've heard other people complain about, and I've already played it a lot (ME now, because after the first 6 hours or so AC is very repetitive). But then my X360 seems to be working a lot better than some peoples' and it might be different on the PC when it finally is released in February. :p

I think ME is X360 exclusive right now...

Once again I am sick... Dammit!
It seems the stressful life at work is taking its toll on me. Once more its strepto who got me and I am feverish and sluggish, and cant really do anything. At the same time I have a muscle-syndrome (inlack of better word) where some muscles have "frozen up" on my back giving me intense pain in the evening and morning. And I mean intense. As in - who just stabbed me in the back and slammed a knee into my chest at the same time. They hope it is the muscle syndrome, otherwise they are concerned I am getting a discosprolaps. I am beginning to feel old.
Just because of this I am going to sit down and play some of the most easygoing games we have on CWF today, just to feel a little younger and better.
Hot cups of coco are on me today. That is ... if I dont empty out the storage before any one else gets at it.

Sad to hear that you're ill C. :(
It has been long time since I did this. I am sitting on computer all alone (kiddo is sleeping (at day), and GF is doing some shopping with her mom. Odd. I did not even remember how it was to sit on comp at home, without feeling dead tired. :)

Mmm... Perhaps I should try fixing some bug on this site tonight.. (Now I do not have the required time, since I need to wake up the kiddo. He's been sleeping too long already...) Well, I wonder if I do have the time at the evening... Just in case I do, what was the most important thing to fix in here? (Do not say 'edit tool', it's waaaay too big task for one evening :D ).

Well, I'd better go and wake up the kiddo, or I won't have any time at the evening...

Interview section. I got the Hurrican interview ready to upload. Also I have a question. Does the developer-emails automagically get "scrambled" when we add them? Or do we have to write it like <at>?
