The results of yesterday:

Czech Republic - Portugal 1:3
Switzerland - Turkey 1:2

So Portugal is the first team that reaches the quarterfinal and Switzerland is out. But it was a hard fight they had with Turkey on a ground that was more likely usable for waterball than for football. Nonetheless it was an interesting match...

Choelle finally saw the light and made another point (and only the last-minute-goal of turkey prevented him from getting 4 points) as well as eMTe, Usul and Tank who all guessed the tendency in the Portugal - Czesk Republic match.

The table:

1. Usul 11 points (2/5)
2. eMTe 10 points (2/4)
3. Tank 8 points (2/2)
4. Pater Alf 7 points (1/4)
4. Zyx 6 points (1/3)
6. Maz 4 points (0/4)
7. Chroelle 3 points (0/3)

Hurray....

I really need to think the next round over... Maybe I should wait a while before posting instead of hurrying in to it. I can also see so far that Russia might not be playing up to all that I wanted from them... But hey... Its not like 7 points would put me in the lead anyway...

Russia played a great match against Spain. They just had a bit bad luck (hitting post and crossbar twice) and Spain was incredible good. So I'm still optimistic that Russia will play a good role in thi tournament...

Your tactics should be to wait for best players so far submitting their guesses and follow their choices. :D

No one expected Germany's loss I suppose. :D

The results of today:

Croatia - Germany 2:1
Austria - Poland 1:1

eMTe is right. No one expected Germany to loose against Croatia. It was really a big surprise and I am shocked, because I haven't seen a worse perfomance of the german squad for more than two years. Because of the last-minute draw between Austria and Poland Germany can't reach head of the group anymore and so there might be a match between Portugal and Germany in the quarter final. Just in case Germany reaches the next round of course, because still all four teams in the group have the chance to do so.

Not many points for the players today. Just Tank and Pater Alf guesses the right result of the second match and get 3 points each.

Here's the table:

1. Tank 11 points (3/2)
2. Usul 11 points (2/5)
3. eMTe 10 points (2/4)
3. Pater Alf 10 points (2/4)
5. Zyx 6 points (1/3)
6. Maz 4 points (0/4)
7. Chroelle 3 points (0/3)

I saw it. And the memory of this match goes next to those from Germany - Croatia.... :(
The last matches will be very interesting.

Well, at least Italy didn't win.

The (interesting) results of today:

Italy - Romania 1:1
Netherlands - France 4:1

Another impressive victory of the Netherlands. They not just beat their opponents, they destroy them. And now we have a strange situation in this group. Italy and France both depend completely on the Netherlands. If they let Romania win (and they might have an interest in it, because it's a possible opponent in the half final) Italy and France are both out...

Btw: Very strange playing schedule this year. Why can you meet a team of your group in the half final again? I don't think that was ever there before and I don't think it's a good idea as it opens the door for strategic thoughts in the last group match.

Again not many points today. Usul, eMTe, Maz and Pater Alf get 1 point each for guessing the victory of the Netherlands.

The table:

1. Usul 12 points (2/6)
2. Tank 11 points (3/2)
3. eMTe 11 points (2/5)
3. Pater Alf 11 points (2/5)
5. Zyx 6 points (1/3)
6. Maz 5 points (0/5)
7. Chroelle 3 points (0/3)

I'm still quite optimistic about Italy. They will beat France in the last game and if the Netherlands play fair, they will beat Romania (but I'm not sure they will play fair). So Italy will be in the quarter final... :P

Well now I cant really wait that much longer on posting bids on the next round...
So here goes:

Switzerland - Portugal: 0-2
Turkey - Czech Republic: 0-1

Poland - Croatia: 0-1
Austria - Germany: 0-3

Netherlands - Romania: 2-0
France - Italy: 1-2

Greece - Spain: 0-2
Russia - Sweden: 1-1

I have tried to keep it very onesided this time, and the only goal-rich match I see coming is Germany- Austria as Germany have something to prove now.

There are a couple of results I am very anxious about. Netherlands vs. Romania of course since this means the future for Italy and France. (And I am still routing for the Netherlands.)
Russia vs. Sweden since Russia is my bid on tournament champions (I just didn't want to go with the flow), and Sweden holds Johan Elmander who is one of my favourite players (and Sweden is supposed to be our brothernation).
But after this round that just was I am finding it even harder to bid on results. There were so many surprises...

The results of the last two days:

Sweden - Spain 1:2
Greece - Russia 0:1

Switzerland - Portugal 2:0
Turkey - Czech Republic 3:2

Can't write anything about the matches of yesterday (because I didn't see them), but with Spain we have another team in the quarter final and I think Sweden and Russia will have a hard fight in the last match.
Today Switzerland won against the B-team of Portugal (but it doesn't matter anyway) and with spectacular last 15 minutes Turkey turned another match and reached the quarterfinal (but lost their goalie). It's just a shame that the matches weren't over after 80 minutes. Both of my guesses would have been right then...;)

And now to something completely different: Chroelle is the winner of the day reaching 4 points for yesterday's matches. Congratulations! Zyx made 4 points as well (you can see his bets here). Pater Alf is close behind with 3 points (damned last 10 minutes), followed by Usul with 2 points and finally Maz and Tank who get 1 point each. eMTe gets nothing... :P

The table:

1. Usul 14 points (2/8 )
1. Pater Alf 14 points (2/8 )
3. Tank 12 points (3/1)
4. eMTe 11 points (2/5)
5. Zyx 10 points (2/4)
6. Chroelle 7 points (1/4)
7. Maz 6 points (0/6)

P.S.: Maz and eMTe, don't forget to guess the next matches!!!
