Hopefully you are a new breed of walking immunity that only blossomed with age...like a fine wine...

I seem to be the opposite. I had to leave work on Tuesday as I was not feeling well, headache, aches, pains, chills. Then after a day of rest I was pumped up, and went back to work. Friday, I had such a sore throat I thought I had tonselitus...today, I feel like crap! Sore throat is gone, but now it is in my sinuses, and I have a splitting headache and can barely hear people when they talk to me...ugh...went to the pharmacy today and bought Buckley's (Do you guys have Buckley's?, if you don't its primary ingredient is camphor and pine needles)...when I got outside I chugged some straight from the bottle and almost threw up.

I'm just glad we have a long weekend this weekend...I don't think this is going to be completely out of my system come Monday.

Hope you're feeling better, Pager, and that you were able to enjoy at least part of the long weekend. We've been having quite beautiful weather lately here in Toronto... I'm surprised the temperature went as high as 26 degrees C on Sunday; unusually warm for October, so I took advantage of it by going for a bike ride in a park. It was very relaxing. :)

Also, I made sandwiches from leftover Thanksgiving turkey for lunch yesterday. Yay! :D

Hey, I ride bicycle even during freezy winters. The reason is, it takes me only 5 mins of such a ride to reach work, so I dont care whether it's summmer or winter, I can wake up late, grab a bike and, voila, here I am.

I guess not much of you have that comfort in Canada.

Maria is with me for the rest of the week. She hadn't been up here for about 10 days. Not due to work either: With the state investigation of the bus line, Pace, the bus company, had till yesterday to hand over to the investigators what they wanted to know, in terms of internal documents, memos, and what-have-you.

Pace refused. So, today, the investigators came in with a search warrant and a good size chunk of the police force. A few of my friends that were at the garage called us, and let us know what was going on.

I was afraid of having Maria up here; That bus garage is run like the mob. As I mentioned on Blackdiam a while back, they had Maria wrongfully arrested twice last spring and summer. They know that for what we're looking at for reparations, it will break the company. So what do they do? Commit more stupid acts and raise the amount we will be entitled to!

She and I decided between us it was best she stay further away from town here for a while till today.

At this point, the estimated payout she may get is an eight digit number now, and I will be entitled to a seven digit number. Much of her entitlement is figured because the second time Pace had her arrested (for doing nothing more than paying fare on a bus and quietly having a seat!), she was called in as a terrorist.

What we found happened, is the management has been hiring friends of theirs that are willing to co-operate, after firing drivers who are sick of the situation. These friends of management are watching for her and I to get on the buses, then calling the garage and reporting what bus we get on. Management has then called the cops twice now on us.

Second time, the time Maria was called in for terrorism, the police threw her to the ground and had a gun to her head. She was about a month pregnant at the time too!

Since then the police have wised up to the antics, and have their own investigation going now!

But for this evening, Maria and I are enjoying ourselves! Can barely keep out eyes off each other! At this moment, she is taking a shower, and here I am on CWF.

Holy crap!!! It seems things have gotten out of control over there. What was the problem to begin with?

Good to hear you are together though. And how come they claim Maria is a terrorist? Or was that just to get the police to react with force?

I dont fully understand. Why is the bus company (where Maria works, right?) "run like a mob"? And why do they accuse a rank and file worker of anything (to the point claiming that she's a terrorrist)?

I'm a little confused as well...but...I think you could probably started a new bus line with the settlement you get from Pace...I'd call it FU-Pace.

Well, I've been following along RWM's story on BD, so I know some of the details. It's ridiculous how much the company is escalating the conflict over a simple harassment lawsuit! I don't blame you for wanting to stay away from the city for a while, RWM; I wouldn't feel safe either.

I'm glad to hear you're more or less okay, though; one of the things I was worried about when BD shut down was that I wouldn't be able to hear updates from your corner of the world. It's good to know I can still hear about it here on CWF. :)

Dont you Blackdiamers have some sort of hidden webchamber for such updates? ;)

As for RWM's story I still dont understand much, but at the same time it still sounds more like a movie scenario; so I hope everything will turn out to be okay and my imagination will not be fully satisfied.

On a completely unrelated note, I put in a plug for CWF on the DoomRL forums. The winning of my fifteenth Diamond Badge seemed like a good time to do it. :D

Funny how child protection filters work. I can no longer reach our forum from our school computers (which I normally use during nightshifts). On the other hand I can still reach the mainsite which means the students can still download adult games like "Slave Maker" or "Hentai Highschool", but they can no longer discuss about it...

There are also some other harmless sites which I used to look at during nightshifts (e.g. comicforum.de) which are now banned for unknown reasons. :Wallbang:

We must protect children from everything in the world. They can watch TV, if the screen is black and the sound is off. They can surf internet, but only reach the local computer... if they have the password (which they don't). They can play computer games, but only without keyboard/mouse/controller. They can go out, but only to school, blindfolded, and wearing an environmental suit with earplugs. God forbid children are exposed to any sort of unsupervised stimuli.

Ever thought how dangerous it is to climb a tree? I think we should protect children from climbing trees also.

I don't think there are any actual Scandinavian initiatives to "protect", other than what have to do with kiddie porn. Not that I've heard of anyway.
