Re: Interesting pictures, videos and flash animations
Not yet, but they might.
I am still looking for a new profile pic on there, but want one of me to replace the joke one.
(That sounded like an opening to any kind of pun anyone would want to throw in my direction...)

That sounded like you wish us to throw the pun, but alas, not, I will not throw this one...

Joke picture. Replace with own picture. Something about redundancy... I got nothing.

Something with:
- every pic of me looking like a joke,
- "I didn't realise it was a joke picture"
- or along those lines.

I love it. I actually giggled over the Schleudersitz.
I also loved the Remember next spring - but I wonder if it can move, because that would be amazing to the eye!

Here's the bag youd better not show up with in some countries.

That, or one could use it to be a wiseguy to the airport security! Of course they'll take it seriously, and be utterly mad to find out that it contains none of the above. Of course, using it for a diaper bag then would be fun!

You reminded me (with the wiseguy word) of the video which probably hasnt been posted in this thread yet, but is for years one of the biggest YT hits.

"Stop killing Judas!" LOL!
Reminds me of a series of Youtube videos I came across recently called "How it should have ended." The Terminator one is pretty funny and prompted me to decide to re-watch the Terminator movies.

Neal Stephenson is totally insane. I now understand why so many pages were devoted to swords in the Baroque Cycle trilogy.

Re: Interesting pictures, videos and flash animations
This is a great cartoon from decades ago:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUgyWhKlH78
I remember as a little boy, living in Iowa, in the late 1980s, that there would be an outdoor film showing downtown by the riverfront. I remember being four or five years old, and dad taking me to see an old movie there, which, as with movies in the 1930s and 1940s, would show a few cartoons and a newsreel before the film. This was one of the cartoons.
As a young rail fan, it was wonderful!
This dates to 1936, and look at the scene with the model locomotive running through the mountains! I am guessing that the studios took a Lionel stamped metal locomotive, and rebuilt everything above the frame. The tender looks like a stock, but repainted, Lionel tender of the era.
I'm fixing to take a spare Lionel frame and motor and hand build a boiler like the one in this cartoon. I wonder what happened to the model used in the cartoon. Kind of guessing that after production, it was taken home by a studio employee, and it's doubtful that it still exists.
Maria and I figure this would be a great short for Skoda to watch in a couple years.

@RWM, I can just picture you as a kid, watching trains with the same wide-eyed fascination as the kid in the cartoon.
Also, I hope the kid's parents didn't spend too much on that house; I imagine it would get really noisy living that close to the railroad tracks!
@Chroelle, that misheard lyrics cartoon is made all the funnier for me by the fact that I sang that song with my high school choir back in the day.

Re: Interesting pictures, videos and flash animations
Yeah, Tormuse, that would be about right.
Got to love the animation in the cartoon. The trains running past the house are pretty well drawn; Much better than in the modern days, where it seems cartoonists, despite the Internet and being able to pull images of real trains to work from, draw equipment that looks nothing like a real one!
Noticed too, that the blue art deco streamliner the boy runs in his dream, is pretty well done in repsects that when it is starting, between the drive rods getting jumbled, when they move the way they do in real life, you can even see the lubricating rod on the crosshead. These were present on high speed engines that were coming out at the time.
These rods delivered a small but steady stream of oil and grease to the crosshead and the horizontal guides that it slides on. At constant high speeds, without this automatic lubrication system, the parts would generate more friction, heat up, and warp or break, which could cause a serious derailment.
