Yeah Spain has maybe the most talented squad in the whole tournament. At first I wanted to bet on Spain as Champions but as they are in Group D they' ll encounter France/Italy/Netherlands in the quarterfinals. A step they failed to pass in the last 20 world cups/euros

and dahood seems to be missing in action.

First two matches are over and here are the results:

Switzerland - Czech Republic 0:1
Portugal - Turkey 2:0

Switzerland played a great match, but had bad luck (especially as they lost their captain Alexander Frei). The same bad luck that the players in our league had, because no one bet on the Czech Republic.
Portugal played a good match and won absolut deserved 2-0. Fortunately Christiano Ronaldo didn't score. Otherwise it would have been to much for his ego (he might have been exploded).

All players in our league scored (because everyone guessed the victory of Portugal), so here's the first table:

The results of today:

Austria - Croatia 0:1
Germany - Poland 2:0

Austria was much better than expected and I was pretty disappointed by the Croatian squad. In the second match the German team played a very good first half and finally manged to get the first victory in a Euro tournament since 1996 (!). And funny enough boath goals were shot by a player who was born in Poland (Lukas Podolski).

Again all players in our little league scored and winners of today are eMTe, Usul and Tank who have one result and one tendency right and get 4 points each. Pater Alf gets 2 points and Maz and Chroelle have at least one tendency right and get 1 point.

Czech Republic - Portugal: 0-2
I think Portugal is off to yet another 2-0 victory.

Switzerland - Turkey : 1-1
Well something has to be even scored at times, and this I think is a good bid.

Croatia - Germany: 0-2
Germany is going to win this one too.

Austria - Poland: 0-2
Poland has a loss to get over, and Austria is resting on its laurels of getting good grades from the last match - even with a loss.

Italy - Romania: 2-1
Romania will get a goal in, but it wont help them much.

Netherlands - France: 1-1
I still think the Netherlands should have a break in this one, so I am guessing on a tie.

Sweden - Spain: 1-2
Spain will go out of this one as victors, but Sweden knows they have to beat some heavy guys to win this.

Greece - Russia: 1-2
I think this one will be the one to watch actually. Two dark horses. I think this could really show us which of these two teams have it in them to go far.

All of this is of course to be weighed in with the fact that I have so far been the worst guesser of this whole thread (tied with Maz who already proclaimed his lack of knowledge regarding soccer...)

The results of today:

Romania - France 0:0
Netherlands - Italy 3:0

No good day for the favourites today. First we saw the first goalless match and the most boring game so far. France was highly uninspired (the only good player was Ribéry) and Romania seemed to be content with one point.
The second match was of the expected high quality with good scenes on both sides (just look at the amazing second goal), but the result was a big surprise. Great mach by the Netherlands and it seems in the end France and Italy might be out and Romania and Netherlands might be the laughing teams...

Not many points for the players in our league today. Only eMTe and Maz were able to guess at least one tendency right.

Hmm, I think I have to correct the table as Usul changed his bets, before the matches started (I checked it). He guesses 1-1 for Romania - France and 3-2 for Netherland - Italy. So two points for him.

and Cupwinner: France...obviously not a good choice

As for Zyx he has 5 points so far. One result (AUT - CRO 0:1) and two tendencies (POR - TUR & GER - POL).

Without gettig anything wrong I actually just moved down another place...

But I am glad that my feelings about The Netherlands seemed to be right. I should keep to my instincts, and dont go secondguessing myself...
It also seems I am the one in here who tends to think more goals should be scored in these matches...

The results:

Greece - Sweden 0:2

With Spain - Russia we saw the best match so far. Both teams played attractive offensive football, but Spain won because they had the ability to play the deadly pass and they had Villa. Only thing I disliked about this game is the fact that Fabregas made an offside goal in the last minute which prevented me from getting three points for the right result.
And what can I say about Greece - Spain? ...
