Well, I'm glad the ads are doing something, though they are annoying, to say the least.

I'm on break between work orders tonight, with the new daylight savings time that computers don't understand without being patched, I'm very, very busy tonight until about 8 PM and for the next few days patching Win2K machines, mostly.

And well pays the bill one year from now :D
Well to say it like it is. Hosting expenses for yesterday was covered by ads yesterday :D

But it seems to be a tendency. Now we only need it to cover for advertising as well, and the expenses so far, which is close to...250$ or so... :D
But still I dont mind it. I love this place.

I have to pay for hosting either today or some day before wednesday... But we are still looking for better hosts.

Chroelle, what means the amount (right now 0.04 $) at Project Wonderful? Is it the today´s winning bid for a company to put their ads here on the site?

Project wonderful ads are pay pr day.
Adbrite are either pay pr click or pay pr 1000 views.

Project wonderful ads are auctionised. You bid on todays showing of your ads. So as long as you are th high bidder, your ad will show.

Adbrite is like more google adsense. But at the same time people are more likely to find a site and bid on advertising there. This means that the ads shift more. However so does the price they are paying.
As we grow bigger, better ads will appear, as it is a minimum of companies that is willing to pay top dollar for 1200 views a day.

But we get the money in every day to answer you Chill, but I dont get PAID (The check sent to me) until we reach 25$ for adbrite and at Project Wonderful I can withdraw them any time I like.

But I tend to use the money onnew advertising. :D

I didn't get the check yet. The amountof money earned yesterday just matched the amount of money spend yesterday.
Adbrite actually lets you decide when you want your money paid out. I think though that you have to wait until you have earned at least 10$. I choose 25 since it was a nice big enough number, and not too long between.
Google wont pay you until you earn 100$ so this is actually a very good offer.
I formulated myself rather poorly earlier, so to describe once more:
We get a statement on adbrite.com saying how much we earned today, but the money itself we dont see until we receive the check. Project wonderful however is operated trhough Paypal, so I can withdraw money from my account there whenever I want.

Earn...

I :quote: earned :quote: about.... I dont know... little under 4.00$ in the last 3 months or so :D

You see why I laugh... Ads are simply there to help pay for hosting. I hope to be able to cover the daily expense of 33 US cents.

To be fair we earned almost 65$ on google adsense but lost it when we were locked out... That would have almost covered for half a years hosting, but alas...no money for us...

So if somebody tries to point fingers at me and call me greedy...Well I think they might be looking at a man rolling on the floor pretty fast, laughing his ass off and scaring the cat....

To be honest the ads are simply there to try and earn a little so far, and later alot more to help us get to our goal of helping developers. I spend about 1,20$ a day on advertising when I advertise fully, but this will rise in a short period once version 1.0 hits the billboards.

So any donations will be very welcome :D

I just paid hosting once more, and that was another aprox. 110$ (620kr.)

I really do believe int his project so do not think I regret using the money on it. I know that Maz has his bad feelings about it, but I will take care of covering my expenses once the site can cover it without suffering. This might not be in 2007. :D

We have a saying in Greece : "bean by bean, you will fill your bag", meaning that small amount of money being gathered, in the end you will have enough. So be patient... your work will be rewarded at some time. ;)
