Is there a way that we can make a BIG Gold star or something that symbolises 1000 smaller gold stars since it is getting annoying.

I think the esiest way would be to have a star in another colour that symbolises 1000 reputation points (and maybe another one that symbolises 10000)...

Or even just 5000.

Or a star with a red bar through it that has a rounded point total, like 5000 or something...i like the different colour idea, but what is more impressive than gold stars? maybe ones with moustaches?

Hi, all. I wrote about this on OGC, but I should say it here too:

Yesterday I ended up in the emergency room. A month ago I had an MRI scan of my back, and they recently told me I have degenerative back disorder. Basically this will get worse and worse. Well, we have a blizzard (Or close to it) coming through the Midwest USA here. The temperatures will dip into sub-zero for a while.

My back is so bad that I haven't stood upright for three days now. Yesterday I had to go to the ER in the morning to get several pain shots.

Now they are thinking they will maybe have to open me up soon and do something. So I have pretty much suspended all computer work (And of course I get more customers now that I've suspended work!) and I can barely move. Getting up in the morning takes about a half hour to 45 minutes.

Just thought you all here would be interested in knowing.

Damned Raily, I'm sad to hear that... :(

My father had severe back problems for years and I very well remember him lying on floor, and crying out loud in pain, so I think I can imagine what you're going through.

I hope the doctors can do something for you and that you'll get better real soon. You definitely have my best wishes!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that Raillo. I have back problems myself which will only get worse, but nothing to that extend you are telling about. I feel sorry for you, and I know that the irony of life is always to throw business at you when you are down, and then take it away once you get up again, so take pleasure in knowing that life DOES after all have a sense of humour...Albeit a wicked one.

I really hope you can get some help that is worth it. Let us know how it turns out.

On my own part, I only have the bad luck of being ill at home the last couple of days with Anna (we are both sick) but Annas fever lifted yesterday so today she is in kindergarten, which she has been looking forward to (and me too - since it can be a pain trying to entertain a todler, when you aren't feeling good yourself.) We took some long walks the last two days and had a lot of cool experiences - where we saw a horse act up like a regular rodeo - which I doubt I need to tell you made quite the impression on Anna, and she has been handfeeding ducks with bread too, which also made quite the impression - if only that one duck hadn't bit the hand that fed it...
Well - just as I was getting ready for today with the place all to myself at the laptop it decided to crash, during a game of GTA IV, and I couldn't turn it back on again, so I called a lot of places and ended up at Hewlett Packards (HP) support phone and the guy in the other end told me that they will contact us about retrieving the computer in 3 days, and then it will take 10 days to fix it´, not counting transport time, and we have alot of important data regarding the wedding and whathaveyou on that laptop, and then he finished off saying that he couldn't garantee that they didn't erase the data........

I am dying here, but at least I have my stationary PC to sit by, but I am not too comfotable sitting here due to being sick and having pain all over - think flu...

We just got bar stools in our internet café, so I look forward to back problems in a short while myself... These things are terrible.

Ive heard that's not true. It MAY get worse, but usually gets better over time. Very rarely recedes, so it's something to live with, like diabetes.

I missed a meeting with Richard Stallman, creator of GNU project, who was in Cracow recently. I dont know where they announced it, if at all.

Well, I will know more about my condition today- I have a doctor's appointment in five hours or so. But, the doctor has already told me therapy might help, but really the problem is not going to get better at the least.

Well, yesterday the orthopedic doctor decided to send me to therapy. He also took me off the vicoden pain killer, which is addictive, and I have had concerns about that, and put me on tramadal.

Now, today, I had to see my doctor in Chicago about a refill of my other regular medications. I'm worn out now!

@ RyM: Did you get any news regarding your back? Physio- or psycho- therapy?

@Maz: Sorry I ahven't seen it. Do you think it resides somewhere in the old files, since I took a complete backup of the webhotel some weeks ago.
Not the database, just the files and contents.

Basically, I will be getting physical therapy twice a week. Problem is, the one my doctor and a friend of mine really recommend for this, is not accessible easily by bus, so I'll meet my dad as close as I can get at the commuter train station, and he will drive me the rest of the way, as it's really close to his office anyhow.

This does need to improve by summer, when I do work for the Boy Scouts, so I am fixing to get a move on, on this.
