Yeah, I'm certainly not!

Anyway, I bought, on eBay, a 76 GB 10,000 RPM SCSI hard drive for $35. Very fast 80-pin technology. I'm planning to buy more soon when I see how this one does, and use these on my high end systems. Very happy about that.

When the alternative is 30+ minutes of delays on all lines, it's better to cancel one or two of them and just have 10 minute delays. ;)

Anyway, off work altogether today, but having friends over later, so gotta tidy up the place a little, but I'm sure to put in a little LoB work along the way. I sat up till 4 in the morning last night... feel kinda woozy, but happy with the work.

Well the client answered my mail, and accepted my price :Yahoo:
I still have to get some last things clear, but it seems the client found my price more than fair, so I cannot imagine her not being ready for the last few things.
That means a little less time for CWF for me, for about a week or so, and then I should be able to work on it side by side with designing.
I am pretty happy with this since it is my first customer in a very long time, and she might open up possilities to get even more customers. One satisfied customer is the best advertising I can get.

Well, I haven't slept too well last night but today was the last day at work (it was a long and painful one). After that I got rest of the Christmas presents bought. I also bought a bottle of not-so-cheap wine. Now I'm listening music and waiting for the homemade lasagna to cook up. Then I'm gonna eat and watch one of those DVD:s that I have borrowed from my friend a month ago.

So, I'm pretty happy now.

ps. Those of you who have still work left, may it be painful as possible until the last minute.

I know mine was. Ended work for this year today, and I am not going back until January 2nd. I am getting all these days with my girls, and my family. But I wish I had more freetime. We have plans for all except two days...
I sincerly hope that I can get some time to just kick back. And I am still working on that webdesign so some time will of course be dedicated to that too.
But I am happy, because even though I am busy things are truelly looking up for me. Got more traffic in here, got my webdesign company kicked off properly, and got lots of days with my girls. Oh yeah, and I survived this last month where my work-situation has been incredibly hectic. We have had days where we were only 3 regulars out of 8 possible at work. And Still we had like 80 kids to take care of.
So yeah...I am happy today.

I'm happy because SFault's attempted curse missed me. In fact, a colleague of mine offered to take my last train tonight, since he needed it all the way to get home. So I'm home an hour early. Which means an extra episode of Twin Peaks tonight, which I gave myself for Christmas. :D

Funny, I watched all the episodes of "Twin Peaks" myself for the last two weeks...

I'm happy because I finally got some free time to come back to CWF!! :D

Plus I may have finally found a place to live after about 2 months of not having a permanent adress, and floating around You, Me and Dupree style...

I am glad because Pager returned :D
(Oh yeah and we got the last christmas presents in the sack today, so no more christmas shopping. Until January, where we enter the "Return it"-time.)

Non-returnable gifts, unfulfilled dream of every gift-giver.

Just wondering... Ice cubes? :D

Me, I just sell my unwanted gifts on eBay. :D

Anyway, I have nine laptops I'm building, and found the issue with one of them wasn't the motherboard, but a DC converter board, which only cost $10 (A new motherboard would have been around $100).

Already got customers for most of them, which is even better!

Also, a friend gave me yesterday, a pair of Mac G3 lappys, both with 400 MHz CPUs installed. Just need keyboards and DVDROMs now. One may also have a DC converter board issue, as it doesn't power on. Oh well.

Well I am finishing up on my first clients webdesign and I got a request yesterday from another possible customer. His request is a little hard for me and just outside of my capabilities (but I am willing to learn) so I have offered him a good price if he offers me a long deadline.
And this morning when I got up, I got a reply from a person close to my current customer that she might be interested in using me too. So all of a sudden things might be getting bigger. :D

And just to add icing to the cake, two more people have contacted me during the last 24 hours asking for an offer for doing webdesign for them. I feel Connect-webdesign lifting off. :D
I am very happy today. Especially since Tanja and I found out yesterday that our budget was made wrong, and hence we would run out of money one month before scheduled. And that means one month before Tanja starts work again. Meaning the last month where she is home is going to be very tight. But if I get just two of the customers then we are getting closer to a solution. So cross your fingers for me. :D

I am happy because I am going on a fieldtrip today where I am going to see some different IT-tools used in practise in my field of work. I am the only one IN THE COUNRTY representing my branch, so this is quite exciting, and it sure looks good on a resume. :D

Not really happy, but quite content, because I was able to close some gaps in my comic collection. I bought about 85 comics for a very reasonable price (including several 30 year old "Flash" issues) and now some more series in the collection are complete...

Got a couple of JC Silversides coaches restored to operating condition earlier today during some down time.

Plus, three laptops came in that I ordered on eBay. I have the parts to get two of them running tonight, even. They were sold as office surplus in as-is condition, and I have lucked out! All work beautifully!

I'm happy because, completely by accident, Ive found the band which I first heard many years ago and whose name I totally forgot. Searched for it about 10 years, but unfortunately I was looking in wrong places...

http://www.lastfm.pl/music/Love+Spirals+Downwards/Ardor

Also, I finally got my new debit card. After 1 & 1/2 month fight. My previous card's validity expired with the end of February. It was 2nd March or so when I called my bank and asked why havent I received new one. They said they have problems with cards provider, so I have to wait about two weeks, because printing of my card cant start. After two weeks I called them again. They said there were problems, but they are over and card is probably on its way to me. It was nearly Easter when I decided to go to my bank personally and put some pressure. Nice-looking, but obviously not too smart woman checked my account and said "you know, they sent you the card, but it was 20th of March, so expect it soon after The Easter". I got a bit irritated, but couldnt do anything except waiting. Easter and one week passed when I visited them again and said that I still dont have the card. She called main department and told me that they sent me the card, but...to my old address. I asked her why, because I had my address updated in database (did it in autumn), but she couldnt explain it. However she promised that card will be resent to me asap. Well, it was. Again to old address. This was enough even for them, maybe because I got seriously angry, so they finally took the different path and decided that they'll send the card from headquarters directly to the bank. Tomorrow I'll see my card again...

Why all this happened? I created account many years ago in different city. When I moved, all my papers were resent to bank in Cracow and changes in system were made. But, mysteriously, system was still showing Częstochowa as the place of destiny for correspondence. Another mysterious thing is that I was receiving letters to my various Cracow addresses. Card was somehow sent to years-old address. I wont get explanation tomorrow and I wont even try to get one (not from the women working here :P ), but I'm happy as hell that I dont have to walk with wallet anymore. :D
